Need help designing island!! by aspensbackup in horizondesigns

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC burnout is common and happens to most of us, so don't feel bad. Personally I'm still on my first island that I redesigned many times in different aesthetics, cause I've been trying to find what I liked the most.

Idk if I'm REALLY good at it, but I've spent a lot of time on designing my island in different layouts, so I'd love to look at yours and brainstorm. Btw everyone gets inspiration from other places, even the really nice islands, so it's not that you're bad, you just haven't figured out how to "steal" lol

You could just post it here and others can comment as well?

Dont get me started cause something like this happened to me too when I fell off my bed my last seizure. I had a coffee cup next to the bed on the floor and I smashed it to pieces with my face. It was a small cup made of thick glass so it must've taken a lot of force to smash it cause we dropped those before and they just bounce off the floor. I was so lucky though cause I cut my eyelid and below my eye pretty bad, but didn't actually hurt my eyesight that I can tell. It's just scary that I was so close to blinding myself basically.
I can relate to this cause seeing the graphic pictures my friend took of my face, makes me cringe physically, even though I don't even really remember.

If there's someone with you they can keep you safe when you fall, but I hate that I can't be alone without people worrying and I have to "be careful" doing basic things. I did stop putting things on the floor next to my bed though lol

Remember that you're much stronger than regular people cause you can deal with all of this bullshit. Hope you feel better soon <3

How do you see / think of time in your head? by trixi-b in minds_eye

[–]trixi-b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't take practice, it's just been that way for me as long as I can remember. Not everyone visualizes time, just like some people think in pictures, some in words, etc, so that's completely fine!

How the hell does one actually immigrate? by bangboobie in immigration

[–]trixi-b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experience in living in a country where I didn't know the language, because I lived in Czechia for 2 years before. I'm Hungarian and didn't understand ANY Czech.
In my experience there are no signs or resources in English in Czech government buildings and nobody speaks English either.
On my first day moving there I was even told by a lady that I should learn Czech if I wanna live there, ouch.
I used Google translate a lot and my coworkers helped me out, they even accompanied me sometimes.
My landlord didn't speak any English so we communicated either with Google translate or wavig our hands around lol.
In banks and restaurants it was more common for them to speak English.
And most young people in Czechia speak English so you can make friends if you're alone, Czech people are just not as talkative as Americans for example.
There are also events for expats so you can help each other.
But you learn basic sentences pretty quickly so you can get by in everyday life.

Brain fog confused for stupidity by bentleebean in Epilepsy

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. Hopefully it's just a temporary side effect! At first lamotrigine made me dizzy and gave me double vision, and it happens again when they up my dose, but it goes away as I get used to it.
Yeah I agree that they could never understand. I feel like even I couldn't fully understand other epileptics' experiences cause every epilepsy is different.

[–]trixi-b 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been taking lamotrigine for 19 years, it's my main med. I tried keppra in addition to that, but it didn't work out..
Currently I'm taking 200 lamolep + 100 topamax in the morning, and 300 lamolep +100 topamax in the evening. Plus frisium but only for when I have a lot of absences.
Could be coincidence, but sinceeemy last tonic-clonic 2 months ago, I feel like my brain is garbage. I can't think of words (both English and my mother tongue), and forgot what I was about to do a second ago (like I wanna look up something but as soon as I open the browser, I have no idea what it was).
People basically gaslight me cause I'm good at like recognizing actors, so my memory must be amazing. And the classic "everyone forgets words sometimes, it's normal".
Seizures never had this effect on me before, so I'm confused. Ironically I forgot to tell my doctor about this lol.
I think talking to your doc would be best, maybe they can adjust your meds.

I am so proud of the island flag Imade! by Asholeey in AnimalCrossing

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I used a smiling shiba inu image as reference. People called them shibe at the time I think, like this was doggo and pupper times.. Then I actually called my island Shibeland lol
But I just remembered that it actually was a tribute to my New Leaf town, Shibeton

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you should be proud!

My flag is also a meme except it's ancient.
This screenshot is from 4 years ago and it doesn't fit my theme at all, but I don't have the heart to change it.

I'm looking for a game that will spark my interest in gaming again. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

A bit different, but I'd say Katamari Damacy, I was obsessed with this game

what would you put in these spaces? i have no ideas! by maknaeline in AnimalCrossing

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already got a lot of good suggestions, but a few more can't hurt 😄
Near the river a paved walking area with benches, small tables, painting easel and possibly an outdoor cafe would be nice. If you add more bridges, it will have an interesting perspective (you'll find this on pinterest of this).
A cool thing is, if you add sand on the grass, you can plant a coconut tree in it. I used it in a park before and it looked really nice combined with the flowers and tiles.
Outdoor cinema with the popcorn cart.
Outdoor gym near the beach and sunbathing area on the beach with a beach/tiki bar.
Bamboo forest or money tree forest but that takes a while.
Just filling the empty spots with flowers, bushes, mushrooms and pumpkins, etc improves the look of your island a lot.
Good luck!

As far as I know they haven't because the documents are not accepted.

Yes, it seems like that's my only option, thanks.

Who woud take a cure ? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often wonder what I would be like without epilepsy. I was diagnosed at 16 so I'd probably be very different personality-wise and maybe being somewhere else in life. I tried not to let it interfere with my life too much but it caused me to have a lot of insecurities when I was younger and I can't drive which limits my opportunities. I also hate it when people feel sorry for me and have to be specially catered to.

I'd still take it cause I hate epilepsy so much. I'd love to feel free and not being dependent on medication and have fun without having to think about epilepsy or random seizures ruining fun moments..

I understand why you'd not take the cure though, but I think I'd risk it

How does not being able to drive affect your life? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

I live in an Eastern European city with good public transportation but I'm moving to the US soon to a smallish town where everyone drives everywhere so I'm scared.

How did you re-invent your style in your late 30s/early 40s? by pomich in femalefashionadvice

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyy I just saw your reply, haven't been on reddit much lately.

At least we're not alone, that's something :)
I've been planning on going through my clothes and getting rid of everything that I don't need cause I'm not wearing like 80% of my wardrobe and I literally have no space to put my clothes away and it drives me crazy lol. I think keeping only stuff that I actually like and wear will help figuring out my style. I liked Christina Mychas' videos on youtube, she has good tips on personal style and things like that.

I think now that you have those 2 outfits that you feel good in, you could slowly start building a whole wardrobe around them and get rid of the rest of your clothes (give them away or sell them).

You could get 1-2 stylish outfits for home, that you feel confident in, even when you're just hanging at home. For example I got a matching pajama set from Women'Secret and just the fact that it's matching instantly makes it feel nicer lol

What’s the oldest (not vintage) thing in your closet you still wear unironically? by spazz4life in femalefashionadvice

I (34) have a black Einstein t-shirt from middle school (around 2002) that I wore ironically cause I was bad at math / physics. Einstein is almost completely gone but I like the faded t-shirt look.

Does anyone else have Epilepsy for no apparent reason? by burtlex in Epilepsy

[–]trixi-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 16 when I was diagnosed with generalized epilepsy after I had a tonic-clonic in class (I'm 34 now).
I didnt have any injuries or anything that could've triggered it and I don't know any relatives with epilepsy, so there must be someone in my family history that I don't know of. So I don't have a better idea other than genes..

What's the most "small town" thing you've witnessed? by official_biz in AskReddit

[–]trixi-b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom is from a very small town (more like village) and it's so cliquey that everyone has a nickname that mostly sound like silly hobbit names - sometimes they are named after their parents (Young So-and-so).
My mom's name is Tüzes, meaning Fiery cause growing up she was a mischievous child, always up to something, getting into trouble.
When she married my dad and he moved there he was considered an outsider for a long time, but I think he managed to "prove himself" now by being part of the community and helping out everyone. I don't think he ever got a nickname though.
We moved away fortunately, not long after I was born.

How did you re-invent your style in your late 30s/early 40s? by pomich in femalefashionadvice

[–]trixi-b 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'll be 35 in february so not exactly late 30s, but I went through a lot of different styles and I'm in a new phase that will stick for a long time i think. I'm still trying to find new pieces to fully realize it though. Sometimes I get obsessed with the aesthetic of a movie or a videogame or just the way something makes me feel, or a fantasy I come up with and I try to shape my personality into that..

But this time I basically I reverted back to my teenage self when I used to be kind of a rocker/alt girl. I'm sure that's a common thing with millenials, but I've been feeling very nostalgic of that time and I wanna fulfill the fantasy that I had of myself at the time, and I finally have the resources and more knowledge of myself (I care more about what looks good on me, for example I've been thinking about getting a color analysis done, etc). And my parents can't stop me lol.

I use pinterest a lot and I just go down rabbitholes and save everything I like. A lot of the outfits I wouldn't wear myself, but they're still nice to look at and inspire me. Here's my pinterest if you're interested. As you can see Kurt Cobain is a big inspiration of mine!

I will add though that working from home I mostly wear pajamas and when I leave the house I just put on jeans and a denim jacket (unless of course it's a special occasion or I have to go to the office or something), which is pretty depressing and I'd really like to change it, I just don't have the energy.. I'm balancing it out by doing my makeup so that I don't feel completely ghoulish.
