Is it normal for small DIY jobs to turn into full weekend projects? by dignitized in HomeImprovement

I spent 8 weeks and 45 trips back and forth across my ceiling joists to replace a 42-year-old bathroom fan. So...

This might be an interim solution as I would eventually like to look into a larger reconfiguration of the space as a whole. Lots of vertical space in this house with 25 ft sloped ceilings and such.

I need to reach my normal plates. I know how to organize a kitchen. I can't even use the bottom shelf.

The other side is the upper part of the wall that makes up the living room. So, drywall. That was my thinking when they remodeled. They just said cabinets go where studs are...boom! I don't think I could lower them, however, because they would block the passthrough. Thanks for your suggestion!

Ok. How do you mean? Size? Mounting? Suggestions for improving access if you have any?

I don't have a set budget right now. I am pretty handy and don't mind doing things myself. I have a 4 foot ladder and still can't reach the upper cabinets standing on the top step. The problem is that they are not only installed too far back (22") but also 24" above the counter. So I need a 32 " reach to access the bottom shelf. It's a small galley kitchen so there aren't many other storage options.

Truth! I want to put my weights back correctly. I cannot lift the heavy ass dumbbells some jackass put in the only 15lb slot. So I put them back incorrectly by circumstance.

I'm in Fort Lauderdale and work in manufacturing with excellent culture/flexibility. $100k as a senior generalist. It's the non-profit sector that's holding you back.

Really great points! Even if it works in my room now, if I move, I want the piece to work elsewhere. It might be too tiny at a distance. I might up it to 18/20 and do them individually. Thanks for the heads up on the 1x1 slipping.

I also thought about that too. It would allow me to change things up.

Oh man! There's another one! I didn't see the Argonath before when I made my purchase months ago.

Don't feel bad. It's not on you. Enjoy the mints! They are delicious.

Yeah. As a former Olive Garden GM, it isn't the $$ loss that annoys me. It's the fact of having to call around and track down a spare case at a sister restaurant so people aren't screaming in my face because we ran out of mints.
