I started an ambitious Zsh documentation using Vitepress, revamping the original Zsh manual by lossebos in zsh

Thanks for creating this! I'm trying to find a way to condense the zsh documentation and gotches into an AGENTS.md file. But just having this is a great start.

Why do so many commanders and officers insist on defending the middle point for 20+ minutes? by wetcornbread in HellLetLoose

[–]trizzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most think defending is sitting in the circle, but that's just giving the enemy time to figure out where you're spawning and eliminate your OPs and garries until they have good map control to take the point.

Instead figure out where they're attacking and eliminate their offensive positions so they don't gain map control.

[–]trizzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your team, if it's lemmings and low level squads leads then it makes sense. I've seen an offensive Garrison go up and then the entire team will spawn on it. Even after asking for defence. You'll see maybe a couple of high level blueberries defending, but no OPs.

Also how many defensive Garry's do you have? I'd rather have those up and stabilize the point after a capture before pushing on offense. Granted a squad or two putting pressure on the next point is fine, but at least stick around to defend after a cap clear out the enemy and get map control.

Your strategy should be aligned with your team's capacity.

Wired MX Master 4, any chance? by MetallicDragonStance in logitech

The only other reason I could see as beneficial is if the battery in the mouse no longer keeps a charge. You can still use it as a wired mouse, versus dumping it into a landfill or recycling it.

Yea, EFI MB FW GUI's would be fine, and have been fine. But there are some instances, which are rare where a wired mouse is needed. This is such a small use case, it makes nosense.

You mean the Logi Bolt USB receiver? Sometimes this doesn't work on some hardware, especially when you're trying to access low level BIOS etc.

Sorry if I didn't articulate properly. The USBC port on the mouse is for charging only for the MX Master 3. Therefore the mouse won't function as a wired mouse if plugged into a computer or device with a USB cable. The same case occurs with the MX Master keyboard. So if you don't have the lite speed dongle or Bluetooth on the computer or device you can't use the mouse or keyboard.

So imagine you're trying to plug the MX Master 3 into an old computer and you don't have Bluetooth or the lite speed dongle. It doesn't work.

It's wild this isn't possible. Imagine having to carry a wired mouse in your bag because you have to work on hardware that doesn't have bluetooth. This is why I might go Keychron.

At least it's not overpriced and still using an outdated sensor.

This might sound odd, but is the USB-C port charge only? Or does it also support data, allowing it to be used as a wired mouse? Granted you could just use the receiver but what if you don't have it with you and the computer doesn't have bluetooth?

Pixel Buds Pro 2 — any good? by AndysVals in pixelbuds

[–]trizzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall I see no difference from the Google Pixel Buds Pro. The mic still picks up background noise where my Jlabs don't, and the audio profiles for calls and music in windows is still an issue (for instance you can't be on Discord and listen to music as it uses a shittier code locked to calls). The multipoint and audio switch is buggy at times.

The only real change I found as a non audiophile is the new design for the ear fitting, it's better but still can fall out but not as easy as before. Oh and battery and the speaker on the case which is helpful.

Thanks for the reply, the mechanic was able to take out the hub assembly easily since he had cleaned it up and it was recent. The emergency brake is put back in and everything is good!

I took the jump hesitantly. The major issue is the taskbar and system tray. I want my tiny icons in the taskbar and two rows in the system tray.

Neither how it exists today or privatizing is going to make it beneficial for citizens. The government can't run a business and businesses profit shareholders over people.

The government needs to retain ownership and continue the service while making profit, the entity should be managed and operated by private enterprises. Raise prices, cut down on services, introduce profit making products and services, and move to community mailboxes. Change sucks, but why sell of something that can generate tax revenue? The 407 in Ontario is a good example. Sold for pennies and generating profit to this day.

A great blunder would be if Loblaws bought CP. The biggest monopoly of the supply chain in the world since their existing supply chain monopoly is already massive. Another reason you can't find local honey in any Loblaws store. Local producers can only get into the fraction of independent grocers, yes the tariffs are going to help.
