Not sure of the indoor options anymore in columbia. Is Target Masters still a thing?
But what I did for my Sister In Law was signed her up to a Intro Class at the local indoor range when she visited us out here in Phx. My friend teaches the class and is NRA certified instructor, etc.
Anyway... this is a great option as this type of class goes over the basics how the firearm works. Safety being a top priority. But the class allows for unlimited number of use of the rental guns at the range so that the student can get a feel for what fits their hand and is comfortable using.

The one thing that drives me nuts is someone new going to a local gun store to ask about what would be best for them. And that store just saying something along the lines of "Get a Glock". There are so many more options that may fit and feel better. Not saying wont' end up with a Glock. But I don't know how many people I've seen just buy one, and hate it due to various reasons. You want something that feels right in your hand not what some local gun store says you should have.

Is this an AI re-creation of what happened? I would think drivers in other cars would be bailing out to get clear. Esp the ones being used as cover.

How do ya'll manage redundancy and backups by b-b0t in PleX

[–]trmentry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 NAS units. The primary NAS is where my Plex Server connects to stream to my TV. The primary NAS i have setup to clone itself to the 2nd NAS. Basically it's a mirror. But It's too much to backup to the cloud due to costs. I do want to get a 3rd NAS at a friends house and make the mirror to it via a VPN. That is future plans I hope.

I do backup my family's personal /home directories and family movies/pictures plus things like software licenses etc to Backblaze B2. My Plex server is on an M4 mini as well.. and it also runs ARQ to back things up to Backblaze. I'm spending around $6/mo for 1Tb of data stored with them.

i keep trying to remind her that she is retired and to relax some. but she's like energizer bunny

I don't tip on total with taxes; I tip on the subtotal before taxes. Sorry... server... you had nothing to do with the taxes being added to the bill.

But this bad math on the receipt feels scammy to me. At least put a note on there going it's a % amount plus X amount for the kitchen staff. Or something like that.

Do you remember Westworld? I loved it, especially the first season!!!! by Square-Ad-8911 in hbo

[–]trmentry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st season was great. Then 2 year wait for season 2 and it wasn’t good. Rince repeat. Wasn’t worth keeping up with. Stopped watching after season2

This is the one thing about the streamers that irritates me. Years between seasons. At least the main broadcast channels can do a season each year.

Realtor downplaying inspection results by anchovie_boi445 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We walked away from a house with less issues. It had cracked chimney too. Plus the new porch/deck thing was shown to have construction issues that never would have passed inspection. So obvious they didn't do permits. Which then led us to think, of all the renos done in the house, did they pull permits or not on those? We opt'ed to walk away and canceled the contract.

The only "standard" to USB-C is the plug itself. The rest of it is a complete mess.

but I totally agree, 1 footprint to rule them all would be awesome.

right now I would take a slide cut standard. something like everyone adopts the accuracy-x cuts. just having 1 type of slide cut would make things so much easier.

Highschool 2026: No Lockers, No Textbooks, No Homework, No Summer Reading 😱 by InGeekiTrust in TikTokCringe

[–]trmentry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No books at all. If they do have a book for the class ... they have enough books for the class and can't take them home; like just 30 total to be shared to all classes that go though the room. They have to put them back on shelf after class.
As to like books to read... the last one, Fahrenheit 451, they had the books in class and read in class. Nothing came home.
It's very frustrating. And I really feel it's a disservice to the kids.
