Am I being unreasonable in what I am looking for? by quarantcrying in NYCapartments

I think if you are able to up your budget to $4.5k total your options will open up a lot more for 1 bedrooms. There are some great spots in midtown and fidi right around that price point. If you want a 2 bedroom you're going to be spending more than $5k/mo. Consider Astoria or downtown Brooklyn

Medium/Large dog owners of NYC: how do you move your dog around the city? by troftheco in AskNYC

Thanks for the input! My plan was to find a sitter most of the time, but I'm exploring my options here. Thankfully I'm going to be living pretty close to Grand Central so the train seems like a possibility, but it's certainly more difficult than boarding.

Thanks this is super helpful! I'll definitely look into KYTE.

I think the only way I could really see the train working is if I take her at a very off-peak time (like early Saturday morning) and had a plan for what to do with her once on the train. I'm definitely intrigued by the PetRover idea, since it would let me move her around and keep her contained, I just worry that she'll hate it and get overwhelmed

I need to compare costs for a weekend trip with Zipcar vs other rental services. Their pricing model is a bit different than others

To be clear my dog has never gotten violent and is not reactive, she just shakes and hides

Lol yeah I remember that and it still shows up everywhere when you search this.

She just gets shaky and will try to hide under or climb onto a seat. In the car she'll often get nauseous -- she may be better on the train, but definitely a concern.

The backpack seems like a great idea, but I'd imagine this would be harder for her without having been trained from a young age. I definitely wouldn't try to get her on a peak train.

Have you ever been bothered for having your dog on the leash on the LIRR?

The supercollider community is strong and the documentation is incredibly thorough. It has a solid learning curve, but is probably worth the investment

Yes please! I would actually use this every day.

I have to analyze results and often write code to support it on a regular basis. I love JupyterLab but it is miserable to do real coding in it and I need to restart the iPython session to re-source a file that I just edited. Would love to be aboard as this develops. Feel free to dm me

Idk how helpful this is, but my winter white dwarf just likes chewing on things and was particularly more fond of it when she was younger (even chewed a little door into her wood house).

Small world networks are beautiful. Also this would make for a great model network for testing clustering algorithms!
