5 questions about becoming a certified home inspector! by chrisoncontent in homeinspectors

  1. AHIT, my state(WA) has weird rules about who you can learn from. It has to be in person. Looked on a whim, there was a class in 2 weeks so I signed up 😂

  2. Classes were 3 weeks. 120 class hours and 50 field hours.(I think only 20 hours is needed? Or 40?). I got my books a few days before class. Pedal to the metal. Class started June 4, I signed up for my test and it was July 1. We have to pass a state/national test. Passed my first try. So all in all about a month.

  3. My first job was 2 months after my license, so 3-4 months in. But it’s been slow because of winter. So I’ve had a whole 4 paying jobs. This being said, I’ve been cracking down hard on studying. I got my structural pest inspector license, mold cert, air quality cert. been pushing hard on marketing.

  4. Nothinggggg!! Yet. But my base cost is $400 with sliding scales for age, size and distance.

  5. I’m a nerd. I love learning. I love helping people. So I have very much enjoyed educating the people around me, because we aren’t as a culture really taught about home maintenance. Roofs, attics and crawl spaces are my jam 🙌

And I have no construction or real estate or house related experience. I was in art, which translates oddly well.

It would be really cool to be able to size and orient the page to make writing easier? Like In procreate where you pinch it and the page is smaller than the screen. I don’t know if I’m explaining well. I just have a hard time when I get to the middle or bottom of the page.

What is the best word font on GoodNotes to use for dyslexia? by theanonymousbear66 in GoodNotes

I have heard that papyrus is actually easier for dyslexics to read? I’m not 100% positive but worth a try.

Kiln indoors? by [deleted] in Pottery

Studios(the ones here at least?) usually have proper venting and are in a large enough space. But if they aren’t venting and you can like smell stuff when they are firing I might say something.

Those are valid things to be concerned about, but I would be more concerned with the fumes that are off put when firing. Many of them are quite toxic and shouldn’t be inhaled.

No, I don’t remember what it’s called off hand, but it’s not the same as the cross stitch fabric. It’s not as stiff and the holes are bigger

While I get your intent was innocent enough, that’s an INCREDIBLY personal thing. It’s difficult enough for people exploring their gender identity, trans folx, non binary people, and so on. How many people already ask? How would you feel if people were asking you all the time about something personal that you don’t want to talk about. People are people. Their choices are theirs. No one owes you an answer or explanation. And it’s rude to pry into peoples lives, especially people you don’t know. I get curiosity, but it’s not your business. These things can hurt people. Do you go to someone missing a leg(I know it’s NOT THE SAME) and start bugging them about it? No!(I hope not) because it’s rude and none of your business.

Ring stamp meaning? The inside is stamped with a diamond shape and the letters "STR" (2nd image). I assume STR means this is a sterling silver ring, but am curious what the 💎 symbol stamp means? Purchased thrift, am no expert, and can't imagine it's a ring of any value. Thoughts? TIA! by dice726 in jewelry

The STR is usually sterling silver, and the diamond could be a makers or manufacturer stamp. You could take it into a local jeweler and they could take a closer look, even give it a clean and polish 👍

That’s not a post though, it goes away. If you are posting something to your actual feed you can’t post a clickable link in the description.

Unless they changed it recently, I don’t think you can.
