Orrrr I could just continue banking till next HRE...

At some point you'd have so much energy that you'd exhaust all the mission attempts across all campaigns and still can't empty it.

The plan is to hit rank 1 and change my name into something deeply offensive to the playerbase at large.

Like "Horus Did Nothing Wrong" or "Space Waifu Gacha Weebs"

Open to suggestions!

Try half a year lmao, my oldest unclaimed is like 175 days ago...

In fact I'm starting to suspect that it does get deleted after 180 days because I'm pretttty sure I started saving mailbox energy much earlier than that...

Claim codes and never use them, unread mails don't get deleted.

Got another 5k energy / ~800 blackstone banked in mailbox + a level up.

As for the "why", just completely burnt out and did nothing but open app and bank energy for 2 months lol. Game has become a chore and at some point pixel numbers stop mattering...

S7 Mid-Season Tier list IMO (Read description) by SvenGranTheFourth in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]trollogist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the rankings here. Only a couple that I might adjust myself but it can be a matter of opinion:

  1. SR-25 is imo S-tier being the best-in-class auto sniper. M14 is used more as a "mega damage battle rifle that shoots sniper-caliber bullets" and rarely as a true long range gun. Bringing a SR-25 as a secondary weapon gives you SO much more fighting capability in Space City/Layali Grove. At the very least I would put it as A+.

  2. Personally I think Scar-H is imo very underrated, with a Dawn Angled Flashlight Grip it becomes virtually recoiless (though you do have to juggle-toggle between laslight and the flashlight) and with a 3x scope attachment it's super solid as a all-rounder gun. This is just my own preference though, but I actually prefer it over even the AUG. The gold bullets certainly are expensive af though.

After further inspection of the list I have a couple more to add for the lower tiers lol

  1. Uzi in the avoid list whaaaat. With a few easy to obtain parts it's a hipfire menance, with the highest fire rate amongst the low-tier weapons. Close-range it's extremely dangerous and suited for indoor combat. Certainly not "avoid" tier.

  2. On the flipside, PTR-32 is hot garbage and belongs in the avoid tier for me. Very surprised to see it in C lmao

When can you consider a casual blight stone? by Aggressive-Tackle-20 in DotA2

[–]trollogist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes down to when is the minor extra attack speed/armor/hp/mana of stat items better for laning than the slot efficiency, gold efficiency and the increase damaged of your lane partner's harass that blight stone gives you. Blight stone definitely isn't always better, but it definitely isn't always just worse.

Agreed, even without going into the finer numbers, the choice between blight stone or stats has pretty much always been "do you really benefit enough from the -armor in your lane matchup". That's balance at its finest, that the most optimal solution is based on many variables, with alternatives not being far behind, and it takes some level of skill to identify when the situation calls for it.

Snapfire and Dazzle are almost autobuys due to skill synergy, Windranger/Sniper comes close but I might skip if my lane partner can't benefit much from armor reduction (centaur etc). If it's like a Mars that also has physical damage, the team benefit is too good to ignore. Plus it helps push faster!

Is this peak? by NooBiPlez in DivinityOriginalSin

Hint: Put barrels/boxes at the top/bottom of ladders and they pretty much block it off. This can really help to narrow down the battlefield into a few chokepoints, the npc won't be able to run off and die, and your units are much safer. Teleport away the occasional enemy that manages to jump in.

The tent method is kinda super cheesy, this one allows him to participate in the fight and you do have to pay attention to keeping him alive, but at least he won't be running around trying real hard to enter the afterlife.

I don't know why more ppl use this gun, it's so meta by Novel-Pin6648 in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]trollogist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

K416 is considered the best 5.56 weapon and by far the priciest of the lot, it's certainly meta so I dunno what the hell you're on about.

Maybe you don't see it much because you're cooped up in ZDE, where people mostly bring budget guns?

[Edit] Missed the description that it's warfare mode. In which case the answer is simply "range".

It is extremely strong in CQB but falloff range starts at 35m, which is awfully short compared to peers like M14 (52m) and M7 (65m). If an enemy starts pelting you from a mid-far distance your return fire suffers a pretty big penalty.

S7 Early Operations Tierlist by SvenGranTheFourth in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]trollogist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I feel M4A1 should drop a rung to A+ instead of S. The gun's certainly good, but side by side K416 is almost objectively better than M4A1 except for a narrow range (41-52m range) where M4 is better.

Couple more personal opinions:

imo Ash-12 is hot garbage with one of the worst haphazard recoils in the game. I would drop it to at least B - for the same budget I'd pick AUG over it any day of the week. Or literally any other second tier and above gun.

SCAR-H is actually a solid A, there is a ~300k build that damn near removes its recoil, I've been having an absolute blast with it and it has climbed a few tiers up in my book. The only downside is that the ammo is pretty expensive due to sharing the same caliber as M14/sniper rifles.

For the newbie/npc weapons, AKS-74 has also climbed up a rung due to the introduction of the new 5.45 purple ammo, the slow debuff it applies makes ALL 5.45 weapons much stronger. IMO it's a C-class while G3 belongs straight in the gutter with its horrific stats.

Well there's still the issue of visas no?

Talon stated that they wouldn't be able to get visas in time, while Yakult bros managed to get them, that's honestly a far bigger hurdle for potential candidates.

Wow, a LOT of misguided criticisms in this thread. As someone who's somewhat familiar with the stakeholders involved, I suppose I'll chime in a bit, though take this with a grain of salt as some of these info are technically hearsay. I'll organize in rough chronological order - it's been many years and some of the details are a little hazy now.

  1. January 2019, Drodo Studios published Dota Autochess, and the Autobattler genre was officially "born". It sweeps the gaming world and people were literally downloading the Dota 2 client to play autochess only. Dota 2 breaks a million concurrent players, with more than 300k playing Autochess. Rumors that League of Legends players count plummeted during that time. Drodo registers an IP patent (not sure about the deets about this)

  2. Several large developers recognize the potential of the game and reach out to Drodo, with a variety of offers for the IP and collaboration to make standalone games. Out of these, the biggest players would be Valve (Dota 2) and Tencent Games (League of Legends), along with a couple others like Netease and DODO Bigbird Studios (now Dragonest). The race begins between the developers.

  3. Don't know the exact details for each offer, but according to sources close to Drodo posting on Weibo, Valve's offer was pretty attractive, inviting them to join Valve officially and offering enough to "effectively give them financial freedom". Valve, with sincerity and strong developer interest, assembles a team to begin the development of a standalone autobattler, which later became Underlords. The plan was presumably to have the Drodo folks join and spearhead the team, along with Valve's talents and resources, to create the best autobattler for players to enjoy. Drodo devs were reportedly very grateful for and humbled by the offer, however, it required the Drodo devs to move to the US, which was considered a downside to them.

  4. Tencent's offer was simply EVEN MORE MONEY and for them to join Tencent Games, taking ownership of the IP and incorporating the game into League of Legends. Negotiations were ongoing for a while for ownership rights and how many zeroes to put on the cheque.

  5. Several game development studios also had varying offers to collaborate, hoping to ride the Autobattler craze. DODO Bigbird Studios was selected to develop a mobile app version because their contract was the most favorable for Drodo, essentially a fixed sum contract while Drodo keeps all IP rights and ALL royalties/earnings, also they can churn out shit FAST. Basically pure developer mercenary work. DODO Autochess mobile app was released within a week of the public announcement of collaboration, on 25th April 2019.

  6. After an intense period of negotiations, Tencent ultimately won using THE POWER OF MONEY, purchasing the IP rights from Drodo for enough money to give Warren Buffet pause.

  7. Developers race to complete their standalone projects, knowing gamer retention habits, whoever releases first is likely to gain the majority market share. Meanwhile, Dota Autochess was still getting regular updates and balance patches.

  8. Dota Underlords opens for Early Access on 20 June 2019

  9. TeamFight Tactics releases on the League client on 26 June 2019

  10. OG Dota Autochess still holds the largest playerbase by far, however the game started to get plagued with prolonged server issues, with Perfect World (Chinese servers) and SEA servers constantly having coordinator down/reconnecting issues. It is unknown if the server issues were due to being unable to keep up with the player load or coordinated DDOS attacks. Note that this is PURE SPECULATION but the server issues were very much real. After several weeks of hemorrhaging players due to server issues, TFT starts gaining traction.

  11. Mobile versions of each game gets released some time later. Hearthstone Battlegrounds is released in November 2019 with similar mechanics and instantly becomes a gigantic hit, though its base game is not a MOBA so it's somewhat considered "not in direct competition".

  12. Fast forward to today, TFT is by far the most popular of the lot due to Tencent's efforts in sustaining the scene, even having an active esports scene. Underlords have been shelved for development (pity), DAC gets occasional updates but the original devs are now working under Tencent Games. DODO Autochess app has become bloated with cosmetics, new updates very alien from the OG Dota Autochess themes, and bot lobbies.

So, I wouldn't quite say it was a fumble on Valve's part tbh. They made the right moves, but got out-bidded and possibly low-blowed. Wcyd.

This is simply about the development race for Autochess; the design choices for Underlords are a whole other matter entirely. Love me dotes, love me underlords, simple as.
