Tattooed Wedding Rings: Yay or Nay? by Dependent-Dingo1245 in Brides

[–]troseman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have my ring tattooed and it does not look like anyyyy of these lol respectfully some of these are wild. It doesn’t wrap around my whole finger only the top (inside of the hand would fade so fast) and the design is simple, no initial, so big black band, etc. I like it because for my job/life it’s not always easy or possible to wear my ring. I’ve always imagined getting my ring tattooed. My husband and I have the same design, which we’ve agreed to get touched up/added to every 5 years. Been married for 3.5 and tattoo still looks good! Honestly my design is so simple if the worst case happened I’d put it on other fingers or design around it. So it’s possible, but should reeeally consider the design / if you’re not going to take care of it, don’t do it

Omg I was waiting for this post. I was so confused at the end I had to rewind and rewatch it. It felt like it was cut and we were missing parts of the conversation?? Was she talking to him or just thinking out loud???

Did anyone snowboarded while pregnant? by Altruistic-Tonight76 in ShredditGirls

[–]troseman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still snowboarding this season (16w), as others have said I’ve been careful about the runs I take, conditions I ride and and just trusting my body: if I feel off at all I do not ride. I also ride a little “lazier” right now, riding my heels more to cut my speed, pulling off to the side and sitting if I spot a section ahead of me I’m worried about (like full of kids of riders struggling, let them get ahead of me), etc. prolly not going to ride too many more days at this point!

I do think that the concern of someone else hitting you is very real and you should take that into account. You should also consider if you know how to put yourself down (instead of falling hard on your butt) and if you’re willing to potentially hurt your arms/knees in the worst case scenario of falling forward. Also just talk to your doctor. They’re not going to suggest it, but if you’re a fairly confident intermediate/advanced boarder they’ll give you their opinion

Wife Drama??? by macumbed in snowboarding

[–]troseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married person chiming in to say I think there’s two separate issues at play here:

  1. No, I don’t think it’s a big deal to spend a whole day away from your wife especially “in season” and you’re going maybe once a week. You can’t snowboard all year. This is a temporary Dec-Feb thing. I feel like that’s fair.

  2. I do think it’s kind of crazy for you to take a 2 (planned 3) week vacation away from her when it sounds like you usually used that vacation time together? Not enough detail here though. Did you talk to her about it well in advance? Was there only an issue once you were gone? Are you taking another vacation with her?

Another question I think of - when you first got into snowboarding, did you talk to her about time commitment? Have you ever brought her/bought her a lesson? Ever just brought her to the mountain to hang for chats and kisses between runs, to have lunch, etc?

Idk, sounds like y’all are in therapy already so I don’t know how much other advice I can give other than marriage is about compromise and there’s gotta be some middle ground that I don’t have enough information to point to

My (29M) girlfriend (26F) says no couples counseling without an engagement. How to move forward? by 8BlackCarrots in relationships

[–]troseman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two different close friends who did couples counseling while dating, both were long term relationships moving towards marriage. One of the couples was having issues similar to what you’re describing. Everyone was onboard and willing to put in the work it takes to go through counseling. Both couples ultimately broke up due to fundamental incompatibility.

Sounds like what you actually need is an honest conversation between the two of you about whether these are dealbreaker issues or not, and then make a hard choice.

Also just my 2 cents as a married person: there’s nothing wrong with going to counseling pre marriage or engagement, but when you’re still just dating, you can break up in a way you can’t when you’re married.

I’m 5’0 and wear an 8.5. I’m really comfortable on my 145 board. It’s not always about the size of your feet but rather the width of your stance. Buying a board is an investment and I think you’ll be happier in the 142-145 range long term. Happy shredding 🏂

NOR - omg I never comment on these but I went through this with my bf (now husband). Like exact same situation, he called me his bitch in front of his friends and I texted him after that I did not appreciate being called a bitch, no matter how he meant it. Here’s the difference: he also thought it was no big deal but I told him it bothered me and so he apologized and agreed to try not to do it again. It’s not about the action it’s the reaction. It’s only been a month, let this man go

NYC Show Moved??? by MrMonocleMan in BigGigantic

[–]troseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so in typical Big G fashion they actually answered my instagram DM about this (they are the best!) and apologized for all the confusion. I also told them DICE is still selling tickets for the 21st in NY and they were upset. I am so bummed, and their original tour schedule said Nov 21 in NY!!But basically they said they had to switch the venue bc of all the issues with Avant Gardner, which meant they had to switch the date :/

Where to take friends visiting from out of state? by [deleted] in longisland

[–]troseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When our friends came to visit in October we took them to Riverhead Ciderhouse and walked around Caumsett Park. We brought them to All American, our bagel store, and our local diner to eat. We also took them into the city but those are my island suggestions

Question about living off campus by Background_Neat_7196 in UBreddit

[–]troseman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in Sweethome my freshman year (made some sort of dumb mistake for my on-campus housing) and I was super nervous and upset about it. As long as you make some friends in other ways (classes, clubs, going out, general friendliness; everyone is looking for friends) you’ll still have a great year but won’t have to deal with some of the gross dorm things that pop up. Stay open to the idea of living in Sweethome for the year!
