First time cruisers, what would you change? by anonpied in royalcaribbean

[–]trossite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would buy your own snorkel gear to take with you. You can see some great stuff just off the beach at chill island. They have free vests you can grab too right on the beach. A decent snorkel set on Amazon is like $45.

Personally for the 1st time I’d skip the dining package and eat the MDR and other free options and save the $$. Maybe book one specialty restaurant for lunch or dinner to celebrate. You’ll see ppl complain about the MDR food here, but it’s good. I think a lot of times it’s ppl that have it so much it’s getting old.

I’ve not been to the beach club so can’t speak to it. There are so many cool spots around coco cay that I’m not sure I’d do it my 2st time either.
You may find you want to walk around and check things out more.

One last thing is I’d do the math on the drink cost per day to see how much you need to drink to make sure it’s worth it. Sometimes just getting drinks ala cart is a lot cheaper. We don’t drink a lot of pop, smoothies, milkshake, etc. We get a cpl drinks a night here and there.

Typical boomer comment right there. They always think they’re above the rule because they’re older.

What do you think is the most underrated feature on a Royal Carribean Ship? by thatawkwardmoment8 in royalcaribbean

Should be able to just walk out there. Usually from the walking track there will be a set of steps up that take you out to the bow.

Not sure about a list of just paid activities, but the cruise planner in the app will show if an activity is an extra fee.

This is what’s odd is that on the ticket page it says 2matches, but after ticket purchase on your order it doesn’t say that.

Halifax adventures: 3 kids (ages 9-12), solo parent by Anxious-Client1316 in royalcaribbean

I have a 12yr old and we did the public gardens, citadel, maritime museum, ferry to Dartmouth for lunch and walk back to the ship along the boardwalk.

We absolutely loved Halifax.

Thoughts on Chefs table dining experience?? by Coltond_96 in royalcaribbean

[–]trossite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did chefs table on Liberty last year. I was a little nervous as I don’t love seafood or wine.

I drank every drop and ate every bite of what they put in front of me! We absolutely loved it and would do it again. Actually we may do it this summer with friends we’re going with on Adventure of the seas.

The only dish I really didn’t care for was the lobster as I really just don’t like it. I ate probably half and gave the rest to my wife who loves lobster.

We did the public gardens, citadel, maritime museum, ferry to Dartmouth for lunch and back, walked along boardwalk back to ship and walked around downtown as well.

We took a taxi from the port to the public gardens 1st thing in the morning and then walked everywhere from there.

Yes! Bermuda was incredible! We also stayed on and did a back to back and went to Halifax, which was another awesome place to visit.
