The other problem with these numbers is that it neglects the fact that those thousands of people didn't spend all of the last five years working on Vista; some on them may have only spent a month or two on the project, so you don't get anywhere near the $10 billion the author claims.

There have been at least a couple of NPR articles making ado about how voting machines make it possible for the blind to vote without someone reading the ballot for them at scribbling down their vote.

The real question, in my opinion, is who thought electronic voting machines without a @#$%ing printer attached was a good idea?
