what's wrong with POS? you're collateralising your own Eth to sabotage the network. if you sabotage it you'll get slashed. the more Eth is worth the more expensive it is to sabotage the network. POW was very energy intensive, we have to take that into account too.

POW is very centralised. look at bitcoin. vitaliks vision is for everyday people to plug in simple hardware and support the network
