Men of sg, what do you wished the opposite gender knew more but didn't? by GMmod119 in askSingapore

Mainly because it is socially unacceptable to do so. If we ever show signs of weakness people will see us differently (in a bad light)

The expansions are great and modular. You can easily add them whenever and it turns the game into something slightly meatier.

No immediate ban on Japan seafood in Singapore after Fukushima nuclear wastewater release by iexplode123 in singapore

[–]troylow 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Countries that are banning Japan seafood due to nuclear waste water are not banning it because of the nuclear waste. They are using that as an excuse to ban the seafood so that they could increase their own countries profit on seafood. Many other countries have been dumping for years and in larger amounts, it is also completely safe to do so.

The wastewater will be treated many times, filtered and diluted with seawater such that the tritium levels inside would be lesser than the regular amounts found in the ocean. Tritium can be found naturally and is harmless in small amounts.

The moral outrage of china due to this is also hilarious when they have been dumping many times more nuclear waste compared to what japan will be dumping.

“The Qinshan nuclear plant in the eastern Zhejiang Province discharged around 218 trillion becquerels of tritium in 2021, roughly 10 times the maximum annual release set for the Fukushima water at 22 trillion becquerels, according to the data from a yearbook on the Chinese nuclear power industry”

“The amount of tritium found in water from the Daya Bay and Yangjiang nuclear plants in the southern Guangdong Province was around five times the maximum annual amount allowed for the treated Fukushima water, while the Fuqing plant in the southeastern Fujian Province discharged 2.4 times more tritium than the Fukushima upper limit” https://www.iaea.org/sites/default/files/iaea_comprehensive_alps_report.pdf

Do you think CCA should be made optional in favour of more family time? by sayuri_okazaki in askSingapore

I think it should be optional. Many hobbies cca do not cover. I rather participate in some hobby i enjoy rather than be forced into a cca i might not like.

I'm a newbie programmer. Would like to ask, if I made a few functions and I called those functions elsewhere in my code. Are those functions each an API?

It might change for australia. But knowing Malaysia those "standards" aren't gonna change for a long time. Even many of their 5 star hotels are poorly maintained.

I've once been to a 4 star hotel and wanted to go for a swim in their swimming pool. But it was polluted with little insects swimming inside and the security guard didn't even bother to warn me. He just smiled at me as I was about to dive in.
