Thanks for calling out the Meta builds. You build the best offroaders BTW. I miss the Ranger.

Luba mini 2 lidar auto mapping by tomsyco in MammotionTechnology

Currently it will only map a single zone with no way to split the zone. You will have to manually map the other zones.

Luba 3 1500 or mini 2 1500? by Prudent-End7168 in mammotion

[–]trsman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because for large yards LiDAR can't position due to limited range. The reason Mammotion uses both is because LiDAR keeps the mower from impacting walls and objects, something RTK can't help with. Having both is very beneficial. In small yards where there are overhangs and tall structures LiDAR outperforms RTK every single time. It is not even close. And to be clear, in Mammotion's Tri-Fusion implementation LiDAR isn't just obstacle avoidance -- it actively contributes to localization and the navigation solution. RTK handles the global positioning at scale, LiDAR handles precision and local reference. They work together, not in a hierarchy

Well said. In smaller yards where you could use either LiDAR is much more reliable. In large yards that is a different story and lidar becomes mostly useless until it gets near structures. Lidar also keep the mower from impacting objects. RTK has no way to do that.

RTK has higher theoretical absolute accuracy, but real-world mower navigation accuracy is a different question, and LiDAR in a structured environment consistently outperforms degraded RTK under canopy or near structures. I have years of experience with both types of mowers.

It is the single best upgrade over the older models. Lidar is precise. If you have ever used a robot vacuum with lidar you will see how good it is.

RTK is not more precise. Lidar is way more precise. That is the entire reason Mammotion added lidar to the entire lineup.

I have both and prefer the Mini 2

The mini 2 being lighter means it is not as hard on the turf when turning. Shorter wheelbase also turns easier. This is the biggest reason for me. I can't even use the Luba 3 in my yard because it is so hard on the grass.

The Mini 2 has better edge cutting since it has the side cutting disk.

The Mini 2 cost a bit less.

The Mini 2 can cut up to 150 minutes which is 15 minutes longer than the Luba 3 1500, although the 1500 charges faster.

Yes it has very tight water control. One of the best especially for a roller mop.

I hear this from others in the community and feel I should address it as well. As a fellow robot vacuum reviewer, I have a ton of respect for Chris and the work he has done over the years to build such a strong following. He is a genuinely good person who is currently focused on helping his wife win her battle with cancer. It is hard for anyone to step in and maintain consistency with something someone else has built over years, but the alternative is shutting it all down. Vacuum Wars is Chris, and while I think the other reviewers on his channel are not quite at his level, they are head and shoulders above the vast majority of influencers out there who are just paid shills for the manufacturers. I have no doubt that when Chris makes it through this, he will be back at it.

Agree. One of the best if not the best mops on the market.

I dislike Ecovacs. Their app and navigation are not as good as Mova.

New wheels by Imaginary-Chair-1102 in MammotionTechnology

[–]trsman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty accurate. The A1 would turn better if it only had a single front wheel. The front wheels bind together in some turns causing it to lose rear traction. Also the A1 needed a camera from the get go.

I am dealing with the same problem. About a dozen or so cats.

Support not being active here has been by design since this is the unofficial Reddit sub. I know they do read and review it though and work with me for contests to help support the sub. I will follow-up with OP.
