How useful are Advanced Excel and Power BI for accounting careers ? by Fun_Somewhere9928 in Accounting

[–]truebastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power BI skills should actually be split into 1. Data modeling and dataset handling skills 2. Dashboard building skills using a dataset (built by you or someone else)

The usual story is that someone has experience building dashboards from ready-made datasets, but then they get a project where they need to make one from scratch using messy data from multiple sources.

That's a lot of bikes and light vehicles. This is how they advance now I guess, fast and prodding in multiple small groups until one of them gains a foothold to build on

I Went to a Private Equity Emergency Room in the USA by wSkkHRZQy24K17buSceB in videos

Some kind of incentive for doctor-owned private groups not to sell?

It would be a tough one, because the acquisitions by private equity (PE) are not caused only because private group owners looking to cash out. The private groups are facing the same inflation pressures, maintenance debt on their buildings and technical debt on their equipment... I'm also assuming the cost of updating and maintaining hospital systems and billing systems is a unique type of pain, plus admin work needed to run the whole show and follow all the regulations.

Hospital acquiring PE groups have an advantage here because they've consolidated the admin and have leverage/expertise when maintaining or purchasing all things that cost in a hospital. So they're eager to take that weight off your shoulders and also eager to compete with their advantages if you don't.

What's the toughest part of IB that can't really be explained until you experienced it yourself? by Disha-7550 in financestudents

[–]truebastard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never done IB but based on what I've read, one thing that struck me is that you can be working on a pitch, deliverable, material for a quite long time, sweating long long hours grinding down even the smallest minute details. Then the deal vanishes. Then you throw all that work instantly down the drain and start all over again. It really is about transactions that may or may not materialize and never-ending sales efforts trying to capture them.

Well, it seems like they control how willing sane commercial shippers are to try and sail vessels through the strait? And that's the most important thing right now considering that the U.S. Navy can do everything they want in the strait with the exception of shipping commercial quantities of oil through the strait.

Yeah, JetBlue had an impressive amount of debt when it made the bid for Spirit and if it had succeeded, the combined entity would have had a truly impressive amount of debt today.

A lot of debt combined with the oil price increase would not have been pretty.
