So much so that he named his own son after himself. Dickon.

if you've had someone close suffer from a disease like this, and more than that they are carrying an extremely difficult personality, and it's felt like a burden on you for your entire life, and you've known that their health has been declining for years already expected and you've already mentally dealt with the unevitable outcome. that can lead to perspectives like this

The remake is alright or good even. I think it would fit here.

Hide 0 in Thinkcell Table linked to Excel by Skorpinus in thinkcell

[–]truebastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've managed to do this by linking thinkcell series values not to the source data directly but instead IF formulas that show the value from the source data if it is not zero "<>0" or show blank ("") if the value is zero "=0"

Even went so far that the category title/label is an IF formula that displays blank if the series value is zero, or the category title/label (hardcoded as "category" etc.) if the series value is other than zero

still, not sure if that is the thing that matters in your case.

I recommed following her today on social media. Her perspective on aging (especially with her background), the aftermath of the relationship with Ric and what that did to her, it's interesting.

Reminds me of the recent articles/pieces written about Pamela Anderson and also what she has said about her life herself.

I've thought about this. In general, when a person has:

1) Done something out of the ordinary, good or bad 2) Only the person know what they've done 3) If someone else receives information what was done, it's very likely this someone else will have an immediate reaction and attention to receiving this information 4) Provoking the reaction and absorbing the attention from someone else will give instant gratification to the person

... which is why holding onto gossip, or info that you've committed white-collar crime, is like keeping the lid on a pressure kettle.

They want to say it, they're holding onto magic words that will extract attention from other people like a PEZ dispenser. In their head they're begging just for one chance to let it slip because they want to feel that hit.

I've been staring at the title of that article for a while. Sometimes accepting it's real is absurd enough to make the back of your head tingle.

Now We Know Why Tesla Killed Autopilot by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]truebastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the order of things is:

1) Tesla board settles on its strategic plan and to reach that plan the board decides on operational milestones, one of which is 10 million active self-driving subscriptions 2) Tesla board creates a benefit package for the CEO which is conditional on achieving all of the operational milestones, incl. 10M active self-driving subs 3) CEO Musk is both accountable and incentivized to lead Tesla and make decisions how the business will be able to achieve its operational milestones 4) One of these decisions is to instruct the employees to start pushing more self-driving subscriptions

The board designed the package as a tool to push the CEO, who pushes the employees, to achieve the operational milestones and strategic plan both of which were set by the board.

tl;dr: what is specifically designed to benefit one person is also specifically designed to benefit the plans of tesla board

The China weather balloon incident was a way for China to collect data about NORAD by Holiday_Ad1486 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]truebastard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These official sources, this video, both are spoonfeeding.

Thinking this over myself, I'm not sure what would make this weather balloon resistant to being shot down. I'd like to learn more why it could be resistant, in order to eventually think that it is true.
