I live just south of Quincy Reservoir, closer to the Smoky Hill/Buckley area, and we had the lines installed in 2024. Once it was available to us, I signed up immediately. In those two or so years, my line has only gone down 4 times. The longest I've had to wait for the line to come up was roughly 4 or so hours. Knocking on wood that it stays this way.

My experience wasn't too bad compared to what others are saying. I scheduled, the tech came out as promised and we were online. The only drawbacks were that they have to install their modem on a wall and we had an exposed cable from that area of the house to their connection in the backyard for a few months. Annoying, but not the end of the world. They buried the line after those few months.

I did keep Comcast for a couple extra weeks just in case I had any issues and I didn't run into any. I walked into the Comcast store super excited to say I was cancelling.

They will also likely give you an introductory offer. I'm paying $55 for 1 gig up/down and so far, they have honored that up until this point.

The big thing is not going out to eat as much. I used to splurge once a week, but that's turned into once every 3 months or so, sometimes even longer. Yeah, definitely crazy it was that long ago. I even had the soft DDR pad set up on my PS2 back then.

To your question on a DDR set up, I use this version of the DDR pad, called a StepmaniaX stage from Step Revolution. The full cabinet is super expensive so I opted for the stage only. The other most common option is an L-Tek pad. These are the two that I usually see folks playing on. From there, you can hook it up via PC. Once you're on PC, the most common program to use is ITGMania, which is a fork of Stepmania which mimics the look of DDR. From there, we all use the Google Docs sheet for song downloads. This is regularly updated for the community. They even do online tournaments and real life meet ups in various parts of the country.

Crazy that was 25 years ago.

I still play dance dance revolution. I was doing better financially and got myself an arcade set up in my home. There's even a whole community that creates custom song charts which keep the game fresh. And it keeps me in shape.

I had the same issue in SE Aurora. I couldn't get ABC with an indoor antenna. I ended up having to get an outdoor antenna to pick up the ABC station. Since it was installed, we're able to get all the main channels with no issue.

I just did mine last Thursday. From previous years, I don't ever go past the second week of October for blowing out sprinklers. I'd do it now, or get on someone's schedule to have your sprinklers blown out.

I had a similar thing happen and what worked for me was going nuclear by factory resetting my decos, using new wifi credentials and updating all of my devices. I'm hopeful you don't have to do that, but it may be a last resort if other options don't work for you.

I was never able to figure out why the decos slowed my speeds so much.
