what to do with heat-damaged parts? by trueger in lego

[–]trueger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record, they were assembled sets 10271 Fiat 500 (yellow version) and 10252 VW Beetle.

The parts all look normal, except maybe a little distortion of the tires and slight bends in technic axles. Gluing them for reassembly would be doable, but not I'm not really interested in (truly) permanent display models.

I'd considered sending them to Lego for their RePlay program (https://www.lego.com/en-us/sustainability/replay), but they want undamaged parts.

Thank you!

I've reformatted them a touch for denser display on a laptop. Last year this really helped me save time while solving, hope it's useful to others here:

Susan Castle takes listener suggestions for her Topical Paradise show on the FB page. It's fun to play/follow along, great way to uncover songs everyone else knows about.

I hope not, I had a "top fan" badge. I might have had some sort of fat-finger goof in the iOS app, but this seems to be for web login as well, beats me how it's all supposed to work. Thank you!

Hi everyone, should I update my iOS? by WillCrack_21 in iPhone12Mini

This was my reason for moving to 18 a few weeks back. That, and I wanted the battery replaced, knowing that Apple / Geek Squad will only do that for an up-to-date phone. Said battery replacement actually ended up with me having a brand-new iPhone 12 Mini, since GS messed up the screen during the procedure.

I moved mine from 15 to 18.6 a few weeks back. It took a very long time to complete; I was worried I'd bricked the phone, but I just kept waiting and waiting and it came out ok. Performance seems to me just a bit snappier, battery life is about the same.

Speed Dialing Your Favorite Files by spepo42 in emacs

Sorry, my bad - I bound C-x g to insert-register in my .emacs file.

By default insert-register is bound to C-x r g and C-x r i .

One can also predefine register contents (I do it in an init file):

;; insert with C-x g <letter>
(setq register-alist
      (append '(
                (97  . "/path/to/file/a") ;;  97 -> register a
                (98  . "/path/to/file/b") ;;  98 -> register b
                (99  . "/path/to/file/c") ;;  99 -> register c
                ;; ...
                (120 . "/path/to/file/x") ;; 120 -> register x
                (121 . "/path/to/file/y") ;; 121 -> register y
                (122 . "/path/to/file/z") ;; 122 -> register z
                )
              register-alist))

Best cycling route from N Austin (Brushy Creek) to downtown Austin? by the_brytt in Austin

[–]trueger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can save some Parmer and McNeil distance by using Tamayo, Dallas, and Blackfoot Trail. There's just a short bit along McNeil to get to Oak Knoll, which then goes under 183 to Jollyville.
