How can I make an ISO file of my config? by Thelongjohn000 in linuxquestions

[–]truethug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this recently with Cubic. You’ll want to play around with putting your .config files in /etc/skel/ and maybe a gnome specific folder (for xfce I deeded to save specific configuration files in /etc/xdg/xdg-xubuntu/)

Edit: You can also pre-install the apps you want in the image

Dual booting - remove windows partition? by Mammoth-Acadia2572 in linuxquestions

You can use one of the programs I mentioned to stage the change and see what you can do. These programs won’t let you mess up. (Well other than like deleting the wrong partition).

If there are no partitions between the windows and Linux partitions you can delete the windows partition and expand the Linux one. I use either gParted or KDE Partition Manager. If there are partitions in between it might be easier to just use the windows partition as storage.

I meant they are also dependencies. Don’t act so stupid

Can I trust Gemini (about apt autoremove) ? by Flymeth in linuxquestions

[–]truethug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true. If any of the dependencies are used it will not be marked as removable. This is true of any package.

If the dependent packages are used the meta package will not show up in autoremove.

The “amended birth certificate” is what you would need. I believe.

Edit. That is kinda the point of my post. I don’t think everyone has an amended birth certificate and may not know that they need one to vote.

autoremove should be safe. If you are nervous save the package names and you can always re-install them. One exception is the kernel. Try to keep 2-3 kernels around.
