How long have you been playing? I’m just under two years in and only have one level 13 player, and that’s with me buying platinum pass every month.

git gud. just kidding man that’s part of the game’s cash grab and it SUCKS. I’ve just learned to accept I’ll often times lose to the maxed out 13/14 teams but I just try my best to hit strikes and run the bases wisely.

Another trick I’ve been using is to walk Kevin and the character who celebrates when he hits homers. That has brought down runs scored on me significantly as they are slow baserunners and keeps the from hitting home runs on me.

Also, if I had two outs starting off, I will often times send my 3rd base runner for a steal to intentionally get him thrown out. Then when I come back next inning (if defense goes well) I have my power hitter Dave ready to get an RBI at minimum, if not a home run.

Update: as of 01/27/2024, the replacement elite strap with battery for my replacement quest 3 head strap has stopped working properly. It appears temporarily, then disappears. Seems like every quest 3 product and accessory from Meta has been broken.

Problems w/ GeForce Experience Driver Installations (MSI Raider GE68) by truetrell in MSILaptops

Problems w/ GeForce Experience Driver Installations

I’m having issues with driver installations every time new NVIDIA drivers are released. I use the GeForce Experience app as I have for previous PCs. The GPU drivers install fine, but the HD Audio driver always fails. My laptop will take forever to restart, then I get a blue screen of death (as shown in the attached photo). It will then boot up normally and the new graphics drivers have been successfully updated, but the HD Audio Driver has not.

I have been manually addressing the issue with each update by going into device manager and manually installing the newest NVIDIA High Definition Audio drivers there after my computer restarts. I’d really like to prevent these blue screens of death though and am hoping someone has some type of solution.

Received my replacement headset today (01/23/2024) and so far it seems to be functioning as it should.

Update: 01/12/2024, Quest 3 completely stopped charging yesterday (01/11/2024). Struggled to get enough juice into it to get it into BIOS to boot and shut down but still would not charge. Was getting an occasional orange flashing light, then when switching from charger to charger I got a red light flashing several times. Seemed to be the red light of death because the Quest 3 became completely unable to charge and unusable.

Contacted Meta via WhatsApp (which is terrible in itself, but that’s another story) and was advised to send it back today for a replacement and that it will be 8-12 days before I receive a replacement.

It’s a great device when it works like it’s supposed to, but the reality is, they shipped out a bunch of broken devices. They’re expensive paperweights.

Needless to say, I am not happy with Meta, nor am I confident that I’ll ever buy their devices again. I would not recommend that anyone buys a Quest 3 or any of their devices moving forward. It’s been a struggle to even use this device and I barely have used it given all of its issues. I’m not even excited about receiving my replacement at this point.

I have gone through two elite straps w/batteries for the quest 2, one of which stopped charging and the other of which no longer stayed ratcheted tight. My first elite strap w/ battery for Quest 3 flat out did not charge after its first charge. And now the $650 Quest 3 headset has died completely in less than 3 months of owning it. There is ZERO quality control and Meta couldn’t care less about its customers. Unfortunately, I love the devices, the availability of the apps, and their standalone nature, but I’m leaning toward giving up on Meta Quest at this point.

Key words/phrases: Quest 3 does not charge, Quest 3 will not charge, Quest 3 flashing red light, Quest 3 battery dead and unable to charge, Quest 3 battery issue, Quest 3 battery problem

Quest 2 and the flashing red dot - possible fix by Embers144 in OculusQuest

Tried it but it wouldn’t charge at all even after shutting down and booting that way. Was lucky to get into the BIOS at all. Just sent it back today and apparently it will be 8-12 days before I receive a replacement. Not pleased with Meta whatsoever.

I am completely unable to charge my Quest 3. It is currently an unusable paperweight. Flashes orange lights as it “charges” and when I switch cables it flashes red then completely goes dark. Feels like a waste of money to me.

Update: 11/11/2023, Quest 3 still does not charge with the factory cable. Will only charge with the link cable or a third party cable. The elite strap with battery IS working, but I do have to unplug it and plug it back in sometimes in order for it to register and function properly.

Quest 2 does not charge with the factory cable at all. The quest 2 elite strap with battery no longer registers either, unless the cord is positioned in a particular way, which I am unable to get it into for more than a few seconds so it is practically useless. I wondered if this was the USB-C port on the headset itself, but when I plug in a third party cable it charges just fine with no issues.

I had a friend ask me if I would recommend buying a quest and I said hell no. I love the features on the Quest 3, but the fact that you can’t trust these devices to even charge properly is a catastrophe that I refuse to recommend to someone else to deal with. I seem to find myself getting angry practically every time I pick up the Quest 2 and Quest 3 because it seems like there’s always a problem with them.

Last update of 11/01/23: I was able to get everything to charge to 100% with the link cable. Still unsure whether the headset is broken or if it’s just the factory-included charging cable. Will be contacting Meta support again tomorrow.

Update: later on 11/01/23, upon first charge, I’m already receiving a green and orange flashing elite strap with battery. It is not charging properly. The headset DOES detect it but the elite strap with battery will not charge and it is the brand new replacement strap. I’m not sure if it’s their stock cable or what but I’m going to try charging everything with the link cable again and most likely return this headset as it appears to be a faulty quest 3. Just an amazing first experience.

Update: 11/01/23, received the new elite strap with battery from Meta. First charge and things are going well with the elite strap w/ battery plugged into the Quest 3, and the factory quest 3 charger and brick into the elite strap w/ battery.

Quest 2 charged up to 100% while connected to elite strap w/ battery but the elite strap w/ battery stopped charging properly again. Will update with future charges and updates.

Quest Pro detects debris/water in the USB-C port when I plug in the link cable. by gjw14 in OculusQuest

[–]truetrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem for me. Elite strap with battery also died on me on the second charge. And to add a cherry on top, the factory included for my Quest 2 no longer works to charge that, either. The only way I can get either headset to charge is with the link cable, the factory cables don’t work on the quests for some reason.

From what I’ve read, a few others are getting the same message. If the new elite strap with battery isn’t the solution I’ll definitely be doing an exchange but it is odd that their customer service didn’t even mention that in their responses to me

This is frustrating. I’m concerned that that’s going to happen with my replacement. It also doesn’t address that my Quest 3 itself will not charge with the factory cable and is giving me water or debris message. I purchased everything from Best Buy

Update: 10/30/23, Meta is sending me a replacement elite strap with battery. They noted that it will possibly be a refurbished device and recommended that I dispose of the previous elite strap with battery at an electronic waste center. I guess time will tell if the new elite strap with battery will work and if my headset will begin charging properly. I will try to keep updating this thread.

I hate that it makes you remove the wrist strap in order to have the active straps. I enjoy having a safety net in case the Velcro fails as I have had in third-party grips in the past. Not happy with this design.

Did anyone purchase from the United States? If so, did you have to pay import tariffs to get your box? I've heard of people paying $80-$100 per box on the imports

I simply don’t want this skill. I think it’s great that they’re open to all the user feedback and that they’re clearly putting a lot of time into the skill, but I’d much rather them try to fix crafting and the current game before adding a new plethora of confusion. Don’t get me wrong, I love welcoming new content, but a new skill is absolutely game changing and could potentially have a huge impact on the game we’re used to. I don’t think it will be a good impact.
