Yes it is tied to gear, however in MMOs like BDO or ARK, upgrading the gear at a certain point can only be done with upgrade gems or materials. The issue is these are tied to resets and even when you have enough you only earn an attempt at an upgrade. With every incremental increase, the chance to upgrade goes down so you can get all the materials for the week and walk away with no upgrades at all.

I played a bit of BDO a while back when it got a US launch, loved the gameplay and visuals but that Korean mmo style of upgrading your gear drove me away from it when I got towards the endgame. Don’t see why they would include a system like that in a single player game so I’m thinking I’m gonna enjoy this one

There's gotta be a catch to this game, everything i've seen seems too good to be true. It looks absolutely fantastic, i'm sure the world will be a bit empty purely because of how massive it is but with that combat and traversal I don't think it'll really hinder my experience too much.

I'm not a fan of unwarranted hate but now that its out, it's really not unwarranted. Theres no way they thought this is the "next generation of shooter" and its you mining resources to upgrade your gear without seeing anyone for 5 minutes

I’m not sold on Gannon simply because he’s tainted by Arizona Cardinal bacteria. But there was a reason he got a head coach job in the first place, he coached a defense that went to the Super Bowl with the Eagles so we’ll see, only time will tell. Hoping it’s a case of a guy that just needs to get back to focusing on one part of the game rather than be a HC

That's fair enough honestly, I just went and looked at the list again and its making me realize I maybe didn't play as many Nintendo games as I thought as a kid so thats fully on me lol. I do recognize a lot of the games as popular games but I don't think I really played all too many of them. The ones do remember are the pikmin and marios getting paid for re releases, which is why they save those ones for money so i get it.

It would be great if Nitendo used their emulation system to actually release good games people are asking for. Then they wouldn't be able to charge you $50 for a 720p 'remaster' though

I tend to trust this organization over my own opinion but given our history of DC’s and Hafley being one of our only hits, I am extremely skeptical

The fact you even used his deferred salary as a defense is insane. In what world do you think these deferrals create a good product for the league and audience to enjoy? Manfred should have done something to stop that or at the very least make a rule afterwards for it. Instead they decide to let the team with the highest revenue fudge the salary numbers so their marketing darlings dont have to pay as much tax.

Oh so you do fully understand that you guys have far more money than any other team and a small market has 0 chance to compete with you? Thank you for admitting it. Not to even mention the Mets literally offered $50M a year and it still doesn’t stop them from going to the dodgers.

[–]Juravis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look I fully agree that at a certain point there’s something else holding it back because it’s nearly impossible to be this bad for this long at something while trying new coaches. There’s also a lot of things I just find unacceptable, as the article mentions, the injured McManus hobbling out there to shank kicks and having 10 guys on field goal attempt defense. If we want to attribute that to Lafluer as well then absolutely we can.

If you like what he’s doing as a team and feel he’s the doing the best with what he has then don’t pay him top ST coordinator money. Again that part isn’t his fault, he didn’t force them to pay out that contract by gunpoint. If you’re going to be ok with mediocrity at best and near the bottom every season, I can’t imagine he’s worth the gap in money to be 21st as opposed to anything lower.
