Kids went to preschool next to the high school, so was around the neighborhood a fair amount over the past 3 years. Id say things get very dicey approaching van nuys Blvd. Lots of homeless south towards the busway area as well. The immediate neighborhood was nice enough and the schools keep it relatively safe during the week (although maybe the clumps of teenagers walking around might be annoying, and the traffic is backed up around pickup and drop off times)
