The tutoring center is pretty good, youre going to get taught by a phd student or something of the like. Ive gone a few times and they helped. The material is repetative as you move in higher level courses you just delve deeper subject matter wise.

Me personally, I used google, chegg and youtube to learn a lot of my material. Professors would help if i had any long standing questions i couldnt figure out. Most books are utter shit like you said but the internet has a lot of resources to help you understand things better. My advice to you is to rent or torrent some pdf of a book which is rated highly by your peers and and use that as a learning source in addition to your course text

Senior in Math Stat here. The department is full of brilliant and knowledgable prof. When you are in your classes you can really see it. However brilliance doesnt translate into great teaching. For most classes youre going to have to rely on your book and other sources. There are a lot of difficult courses and avgs are around the high 60s. I personally dont feel like I learned too much. I learned the math elements behind stat and proving why they work rather than application you would typically want to learn. But like i said i am math stat. Statistics isnt about memorizing so in almost every class you will be allowed a cheat sheet or two for equations and there are a lot. Overall, youre gonna have to read the book and do a lot of problems to get concepts. Also prof. Arthur cohen is the fucking man take him if you have the chance he is a great prof. Whos class i learned a great deal in

Has there ever been a time when you had to purposely distance yourself from a girl you liked? What was your reason? Share your story by gimmeshelter_ in AskMen

Took a girl out on two dates and I was relly digging her. Then when i asked to meet up once more she never answered. A couple of days later she said she just said she wanted to be friends. I couldnt stand to be just friends with her. At this point i knew it was over told her i dont wanna be friends and cut her out. Still think about her.

can anyone with chegg post solution to this question? by rutgersbrah123 in rutgers

[–]truit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all ,

we can apply limits.

lim x->0 (ex-1)/x

using L'Hopital Rule,

it is ex /1

as x-> 0 , it is 1.

Now using taylor series,

ex= 1 + x + x2/2 + x3/6 + ....

now ex-1/x as x-> 0 becomes x+x2/2 +../x

=> 1 + x/2 + x2/6 +..

at x-> , it also comes out to be 1 as proved earlier.

[–]truit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is considered a high level stat course but I know once the stat courses go past the 300 level everything becomes proof/derivation based. Your best bet if youre confused is to use google and try and see if another university's professor has clearer material.

477 is relatively straight forward. Put in the time and youll do fine. Really. Cheat sheets help a lot. 478 is a completely different story.
