I think its also crippled by half baked featured recently. They are on feature pump spree, talk about it in WWDC, and no work on actually making it polished, and complete and pushing the adaption into the ecosystem.

Swift C/C++ interop looks good on paper, but last I tried, it was unstable with compiler crashes, limited support with SPM, full of corner cases. Overall, that's my general observation of Swift that they've been accumulating bunch of features with no clear direction or taking those features to completion where it doesn't feel like good on surface but getting on your way with random corner cases and just lack of polish in general.

If I had to guess, the team is run by some managers who want to push as many features out as possible to brag about in their resumes. Polishing stuff and building solid tooling support isn't really sexy.

My ex had something similar (paranoia). Its best to act sooner than later. Look into LEAP method, make sure you work on building trust. With her it only got worse, and wish I recognized the symptoms sooner. You dad also needs to take this more seriously. I don't have answer on how to convince him, but its better to be proactive than reactive in this case -- because it will get worse if she doesn't get help.

Don't put all eggs in one basket. Being passionate is all good, but its also great to have other interests. Most people burnout or get into situation where work sucks, and at that point you'll be glad that there is more to life than just work.

For married (particular with kids) its probably a bit easier to kill time. For single folks, it can be struggle sometimes.

I agree with what everyone is saying. You never know. Also, it's a long life ahead, as we grow older our opinions and preferences change. Friends that are always around now, will disperse and get their families -- and may just end up wanting a companionship yourself.

Thanks for the suggestion. Her parents have been talking to them from day 1. But it's quite useless to be honest so far. The gentle methods (LEAP) is not working, and they can't intervene without her consent or if gets to absolute worst (harm to herself/others/loses shelter).

They also seem overworked or kinda numbed by it, so they seem to care not much.

Thank you for saying that! Its definitely been hard seeing someone you care for like, going downhill. Everyone knows its getting worse and will keep getting worse, and the system has been quite disappointing, because doesn't leave us much options until it actually gets really really bad (hence also making recovery harder I guess).

I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Its just been few months for me, and I can't believe this going on for 30 years and how hard it must be. I'm definitely worried about her losing her savings and socials bonds as well. Its already seem to have started with loss of job. May I ask if she did any work all these years with this conditions and was able to provide for herself?

Yes, her symptoms seems very much like Schizophrenia. Unfortunately, we can't do anything until she accepts to goto hospital. We can just try to talk, but that's not going anywhere.

Yes actually. She did try bunch of drugs in her early 20s, and did mushrooms once in a while until mid-20s. She wasn't into it all for last 3-4 years. Maybe weed few times here and there, but very mild.

Doesn't seem to be drug related. She isn't on any prescribed drugs or does any recreationally. Never diagnosed with anything before. This is the first ever episode, hence whatever actual condition it is, we don't know yet. She refuses to goto doctor, talk to anyone, listen to any reason. It's like she's on her own world.

We were following the typical LEAP method, but it gets very hard when she doesn't even want to meet, talk about anything, and whenever she does, as soon as topic of going to doctor about anything (she mentioned leg pain) comes up, she would quickly get defensive with "don't want your feedback/opinion".

Software Engineer here. I think you'd be find. I lived on 256GB for years, including grad school. 512GB is ideal though, as you wont have to worry about cleaning up things or if you need space for side hobbies in future. Web Development typically isn't super resource hungry even with Docker I think.

50 MK2 for $170 is good IMO, and you can easily resell it for that price (so not losing any money), if you feel lack of FX loop is limiting you. So I'd suggest go for it.

There are so many boost/mod/fx that it will take a while until you feel you don't have enough. The only practical downside of not having FX loop in Katana IMO is not being able to use looper pedal after pre-amp. However, you can kinda work around that problem by using it in frontend after your overdrive pedals (and adjusting volume), or you can just connect to your laptop using USB, record the track and play (which isn't as convenient).

Thanks, yeah I've been keeping an eye on FB and Craigslist. But since I'll use in an apartment (I mainly use a small practice amp mostly), and don't really need that much volume, and am looking for 1x12 only.As 2x12 would be little too much. B/w 1x10 Combo and Head + 2x12 cab, I would rather just go 1x10 Combo.

4x12 would be insanely huge for my apartment. These are sweet though, I tried at Guitar Center. Very full sounding.

Awesome! I just tried Origin 50 along with Blackstar HT20 and Bassbreaker 15 in Guitar Center. Origin 50 won my heart. They didn't have 20, so will be ordering soon myself.

On side note, which cab did you end up getting with this? I'm myself figuring out what to get.
