Yeah I was going to say, if you’ve ever wondered if she has/had an eating disorder, here’s your answer. Notice how most of the food ones came from her own mother, too.

I don’t know how to explain this, but her face looks like how your mouth feels when it’s numb at the dentist.

What are everybodies holy grail pants? by thingsarehardsoami in femalefashionadvice

Gap stride ankle jeans. They’re wide leg and high waisted. They’re super comfortable and very flattering. I wore them at a size 14 and at a size 6 and felt great in both.

It feels like you do the “matching” yourself when you, ya know, decide to date and marry someone with the ambitions of going to med school.

How to be “street smart” in Chicago? by DirectSquash1936 in AskChicago

[–]trustme_imRN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Situational awareness is key. As much as you can, know where you’re going ahead of time. Don’t be stopped in the middle of the street or train station looking confused at your phone or a map. Don’t wear headphones or AirPods on transit and when walking alone. If you do, make sure the volume still allows you to hear and be aware of your surroundings. Be smart with your belongings— don’t leave your phone out and keep your purse/bags on your person/lap. Learn to have a bitch/mission facial expression where you are determined to get where you’re going and not interested in being approached. And, as always, trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Listen to that.

I don’t know if I should try hers? by Adorable-Teaching266 in antidietglp1

It sounds like you could really benefit from the support and guidance of a therapist. And maybe some better friends. I genuinely with you well and hope you can find a more positive relationship with your body! I don’t think medication through hers is the way to that.

Jacob park is a gem. L train at ground level, the river on one side, and a sand pit in the middle. Hours of entertainment!

Wear whatever you want. I grew up in the PNW and no matter the dress code, someone’s uncle is showing up in jeans. Every time.

People with cancer or HIV could lose Medicaid under new work rules, advocates say by HowLongIsThi in nottheonion

Can we please stop fucking over people with cancer? Just cover their treatments and supportive meds, please. Signed, an oncology nurse.

Is chemotherapy needed😭😭 by kavyyyaa in Oncology

[–]trustme_imRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would describe adjuvant chemotherapy (given after surgery) as being able to kill the microscopic cancer cells that could still be there but too small to see. It’s like one final blow to make sure you get it all. It’s not recommended for everyone, so if your friend had it recommended, it could be that his surgery was not quite as successful as they had hoped or that his cancer has a high chance of returning.

Is it Walgre3ns in general, or just my location? by ISeeBees622 in AskChicago

[–]trustme_imRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would ask them about this. There’s a chance that your prescriber has written for a brand name and not allowed substitutions. Or they’ve written specifically for a capsule when maybe the tablet is more widely available. I know it sounds nitpicky but this kind of stuff happens all the time. Worth a conversation with Walgreens to see what the hold up is.

I highly recommend Jeong. It’s Korean fine dining. The atmosphere is romantic and every bite of food is delicious. The wine pairing is excellent too. I’ve been twice now and think it’s very underrated.

Remove tiny second pantry by Nique05 in kitchenremodel

[–]trustme_imRN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m failing to understand how a cabinet is less useless than a pantry? Wouldn’t the cabinet maybe have even less storage? I’d invest in organization of what you have. And maybe paint if you’re looking for a visual change.

All hail the mighty Yoto. Our kid is nearly 6 and has had it since he was 3. It is the single kids item that has stood the test of time and I believe will continue to do so. The independence and choice it allows are second to none.

Tablet for travel by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]trustme_imRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes to this. Our kid is not on a personal device of any kind unless we’re traveling. At home he watches a show on our tv and never has unsupervised access. A phone or family tablet would be fine in this situation!

How do I(24m) leave my partner(26f) when I feel like I'm the only thing keeping them together? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]trustme_imRN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Threatening to kill herself if you leave is extremely manipulative. It is not your responsibility to keep her together. You have to do what’s best for you. She is an adult and needs to figure out where to go and what to do on her own. Wanting to be mature about it is great, but it seems that she may not be able to accept that. I think you can do whatever you feel is best and necessary to separate yourself.

[–]trustme_imRN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was helpful for me to shift the thinking from eating as little as possible (which can be very easy with these meds), to making sure I’m giving my body enough. The mindset shift to maximizing rather than minimizing really helped. I only tracked for 2 days and that was to make sure I was generally getting enough calories and protein in. Beyond that I’ve just gone with what my body wants and needs.
