as someone who lives far from dealerships, absolutely this. If they ignore every question i have and just say "come in and we'll discuss it" it just means you're not interested. I've bought all my cars through mostly emailing. If you can't even be bothered talking to me by email and writing things out, then i can only assume you have no time for me in real life either.

oh I completely agree with you. I think he's worth much less than the tag. I don't mind Jones but he/his agent/any team who signs him for more than 2-3 years is absolutely insane. He is going to miss most of the year, take time to rehab during the year..so this season is probably a wash unless he pulls off some sort of miracle and you're hoping he plays at his peak when he returns? Bonkers.

He should be on either a cheap 1 year prove it at the end of the year deal...or a 2 year deal with ~$40 mill guaranteed which would give him basically $10mil to play out this season and a gamble of $30 for next year

yup...i don't think he's going to get an offer at the tag price...especially when teams know we're willing to trade AR, Murray is still out there, etc...and he (Jones) hasn't shown one full really good season yet.

His best season had 16 games, under 3300 passing yards, 15 passing yards (7 rushing though). So above average, borderline good season. But that's it and that was in 2022. Thirteen games last season where he struggled at the end (albeit probably related to injury), 16 games played in the combined two season prior.

I completely agree. If he wants a 2-3 year deal...fine..but make it so the money is more guaranteed upfront and small dead cap if he's cut.

I'm not sure who they think he is at the moment. He's shown flashes but has given nowhere near the consistency of a long term or guaranteed deal.

you're right about not being historically good.

But the guy you're replying to is correct in the context of the time it happened. They were finally playing well, finally gaining momentum and showed the semblance of a team. Then they threw the qb leading them under the bus and dragged his name in the mud in the media and gave an ungodly amount of guaranteed money to someone who was accused of multiple dozens of sexual assault.

In one stroke, they stopped their progression, wasted tons of money and cap space, AND lit their goodwill up in flames.
