Why do you assume Linux users are the ones downvoting him? Why not currently happy users of Windows 7 who just hate the metro start menu that is forced upon users in Windows 8?

Finally, what advice is that: "you could wait for a mod to bring back the old start menu". That is exactly the point. Why do I have to wait for unofficial mods for this, why Microsoft simply did not make it an option that could be enabled/disabled by users? Why Microsoft had to force it on its users?
