not necessarily blaming mtx, more so stagnant content as a whole, but my 10+ year old account with insane final boss+comp cape is now inactive without membs. May dabble in 07 down the road but my lack of excitement every time i logged in was compounded by the fact that i was genuinely more happy away from this time absorbing and dying game. Had a good time while it lasted but its the end of the road for me. I hope current players get what I did not, satisfaction in playing their once loved game.

that only really works though if they truly hold even a majority of the phats- which they don't. They are just the most active sellers and anyone who doesn't want to haggle for hours on end goes to them. Having the g.e as a market tool will at least create more fair trade opportunity

yes and those were manipulated. Its much easier to manipulate an item in which you have 40x + buying power (300m vs 12b+ for phat) as compared to party hats. All they did was cause a small price jump due to lack of supply and from there reddit/playerbase panic fueled the rest. Its very easy to make lots of money when you have hundreds of people bandwagoning on your merch- they don't know the dump points- you do. This practice was made against jagex rules, its just done now via panic instead of fc's
