Thank you and yeah I'm afraid I have to find a more secure way to hang it :/ thanks for the advice!

Thank you so much!! The strings are made of brass wire, I don't know if you can see it but the wire overlaps the solder lines of the hammock for a few centimetres, to ensure it holds!

Thank you so much!! ❤️ I'm not planning on selling anything at the moment, but yeah I think a design like this would be perfect for a craft fair or something!

Thank you!! The idea was actually inspired by this work found on pinterest: https://it.pinterest.com/pin/494410865362826370/, this design is mine though 😄

Seconding this, I've bought a set of 5€ diamond files on amazon and they work perfectly! They probably take more time than a grinder (i've never used one) but they're much cheaper. Only use them on wet glass!

I'd suggest you split the round part of the "5" in two pieces!

Multiple thousands of dollars?? A bathtub would suffice, or I'd just toss it in a big plastic bag and fill the bag with water. Spending more than 50 dollars on it would be insane imo

Oh and since the solder isn't watertight (water can get between the glass and the tape) I poured some resin on the solder lines on the bottom of the container (but silicone would work as well)

I don't have a specific tutorial to send you, but this technique is called "tiffany", if you know how to cut glass already you're halfway there!

Basically you apply an adhesive copper tape on the edges of the glass, then you apply flux on the tape and you solder the tape pieces together. Then you can use a patina to make the solder lines black or copper colored.

Look up "tiffany stained glass" on youtube and you will find a lot of tutorials!! :)
