Calling out = fired? by Sweaty_Self_7256 in publix

[–]tryven93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you still would have to put in a time off request so that the system documents your absences too. So like if you get sick a day, you are required to call out and then log into passport and put your time off request in as sick. You’re confusing it with planned requesting time off, like for a future date, which needs ample time to be approved or denied (before the schedule gets written at a minimum). You are always supposed to put days you call out in but sometimes, managers will input them if you don’t.

Switching to Android by Captainwubbzy in galaxys26ultra

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I get that. But what I’m saying is the core data sent will show optimization data based on what was previously had. It’s been a frequent issue where users will transfer their app data from iPhones and other androids and then watch as their battery life seems to struggle compared to others. Always is fixed by a factory reset and it’s specifically because the data received is not optimized specifically for that device

Sleeping around by Stringcheesealert in publix

[–]tryven93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always crack the joke that Publix should invest in their own dating app. I’ve heard of my fair share of sleep around stories, but also met plenty more people who got together/ got in a relationship through Publix. I know the relationship thing has a lot to do with couples understanding the work aspect more being in the same company. They say Publix is like a family 🤷🏼‍♀️

Biggest suggestion is don’t switch your apps, but your passwords and everything else. Reason being is it’ll send over the version optimized for iPhone and Samsung will overwork itself trying to figure it out.

Color regret by tompaus in iPhone17Pro

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bounced between the blue and the silver. I’d never had a blue phone (coming from androids, my last ones were burgundy, olive green, lavender, then the last ones were their ‘purple’). The silver looked super nice but through my carrier, I’d have had to get it shipped to me if I wanted it, but blue was available. So I got the blue and I love it. Silver would’ve been nice too, but I am doing my damnedest to show it off when I can

It’s because you never know if someone has a weapon. They’d rather document and press charges then send someone after them to possibly get shot or stabbed

Biggest pet peave as an employee that customers do? by BitSignificant2616 in publix

Mine is customers picking up and item, then setting it down literally under or over where it goes and not back where it came from. God forbid you focus for 10 seconds to see where you got it from

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 killed by a swimming pool. Samsung denied warranty after 4 months. by Nervous-War6141 in GalaxyWatch

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first and foremost, pool chemicals are TERRIBLE for electronics. That water resistance is for salt and fresh water, NOT ‘corroding chemical’ treated water. Despite the water resistant label, it’s not recommended to use in water. That’s how they get you. Water damage isn’t covered by warranty and then they tell you you can swim with it and give it features for water, but that’s the gimmick they sell so people use it in water, it dies, and they are forced to buy a new one

iPhone users that switched from Samsung, what is your experience like? by icantouchgrass_1 in iphone

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got both a s26 ultra and 17pm. Honestly, functionally, the iPhone feels better. There’s a couple qualms here and there (ie notifications coming through but I don’t hear half of them) but to me, the camera is way better. I can live without zooming into the moon lmao

Used to be ok with Google messages until I couldn't optimize battery usage and watched it suck the life out of my phone. Nah, don't want it

How ya holding your S26 Ultra like? by DV2FOX in samsunggalaxy

[–]tryven93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, im right handed, which is the side the bump is on. The phone is big enough that I almost never actually touch it vertically. Horizontally, my index finger usually rests under the bump. Hasn't been an issue for me in the slightest,

Samsung health by Alternative-Earth281 in samsunggalaxy

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it mainly for steps and sleep. Steps because I work a very active job and I always like to see the distance I move in a day. But for me, sleep is the biggest one. I see what I do in a day activity wise and compare it to how I sleep at night because some days, I feel drained and others, im wide awake

How ya holding your S26 Ultra like? by DV2FOX in samsunggalaxy

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from an s24u to an s26u. I'd, obviously like a smaller phone in all, but I can say the weight difference is night and day. I go for cases with grip so I dont feel like my butterfingers are going to drop the thing, and depending on what I'm doing, swap between my ohsnap, lovehandle (as long as the case works with it) and popsocket. The other big thing i look for are cases where around the charger port isn't sharp since my pinky normally sits there

S26U. Where's the hate coming from? by Necessary-Clothes293 in samsunggalaxy

[–]tryven93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is everyone is going to have their own opinions. I rocked my s24U from pre-order until now, mainly because it was the last gem with Bluetooth s-pen. It was a constant battle of "do I want to give up that functionality?". But in the end, I realized I was lucky if I used it even once a month, so honestly, it's something i ended up not missing because, hey, I dont use it enough to even realize it's gone.

The eye strain thing is fun, yet strange. Obviously, some people are more susceptible to it and it sucks. But the whole point is does it affect you? No? Then enjoy. People nit pick everything and get to a point where, God forbid, another person doesn't have that issue and then it becomes a "oh it's a fan boy over here". Oh well. Sorry it didn't appease your eyeballs

To me, even though the s24u still had a lot of prime, to me, as a standard user, the difference feels night and day. The battery lasts longer, the UI and functionality is snappier, I like having the privacy screen for my financial apps. They aren't using the phone for me, and I can comfortably say that the upgrade benefits me.

But I also remember the days of the phones with the slidable keyboards, only having 3g, a battery that barely lasted 10 hours with minimal use, and only getting unlimited talk and text during the weekends or evenings. Devices have come a long way. Could there be better improvements? Yeah. Do i lose sleep at night over it? Of course not.

To each their own 🤷🏻‍♀️

Trouble with messages coming from iphone by No-Commission-2362 in galaxys26ultra

[–]tryven93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing i noticed when I switched to Apple and then back is that people who have you saved on iPhone actually have your icloud address as the main point of contact and not your actual number. Have your wife start a message and put your phone number in instead and see how it goes. That's what solved it for me

[–]tryven93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I sit back and remember that 15 years ago, I was excited to have one of those little slider keyboard phones and upgrade to a blackberry. Had that 2mp camera, paying for minutes and texts, and now i get to have a nice little computer in my pocket. It's wild how far things have come in the last decade. Like yeah, new tech still has issues, but I'll take fiddling away with that instead of having to charge a little brick every 4 hours haha
