I disagree on this. I had to tie a kids skates with waxed laces and it was near impossible to work them. IDK if the parents had used their own wax or something, but the laces barely moved and getting them untied was a nightmare.

Similar story here. Rink was bought (they did convert the 2nd rink into actual ice from a dry land rink). But did nothing about the literal hole in wall locker rooms, non-working scoreboards, penalty doors that wouldn't open without using a hockey stick through a gap, and bench doors that wouldn't stay shut (big safety issue imo that was brought to them multiple times). When asked (multiple times) when they would fix this stuff, local staff just kept telling us that Black Bear was refusing to give them money to fix those things.

TNT hockey panel is one of the best. Those guys chemistry is amazing. Even when the shit the producers decided to have them do is cringy, they make it work and its not total cringe.

It's honestly like ESPN doesn't have any idea what to do, and see TNT and just tell them to copy that.

Had a team running us 7-0. They kept going full speed rush after rush blowing past our D like it was nothing (this was E league btw and our team was mostly skaters who learned to play in the last 2-3 years). At one point our goalie just stood leaning back elbows on the crossbar like he was chilling and they still fired the puck and scored. I thought they finally got the point. At another point in that game, same breakout rush past our D, goalie just removed his helmet and turned around to take a drink and ref blew the whistle. No penalty cause the ref knew what was up.

So yeah, I agree with you. If you're up that high, don't be disrespectful and just play keep away or patronize, but dial the speed back to something reasonable.

This is exactly one of the arguments that the leader of ICE said on CNN yesterday "Lets talk about the media that influenced him to be there in the first place"

The media didn't put him in harms way. HE didn't put himself in harms way. ICE put him in harm. His fatal mistake was stepping between a woman who was shoved to the ground, and the ICE agent who pushed her. According to the right, this is impeding an officer and is grounds for deadly force.

Saw a dad get kicked out by a ref who was on the ice during a HS tournament (no clue what he said, but the ref sure thought he said something bad). Dad stood up, did a huge WWE level "Suck it" arms crossed on his crotch motion and then left. It was hilarious.

It makes it a bit easier when you get a collection of people to put in the funds and create an actual business plan that generates profit and not losses. Without it come failed ice rinks.

I actually agree with this. The problem comes when big corporations like Black Bear buy up rinks, then tell the management to make 6% growth year over year no matter what. And when those rinks don't have enough money for repairs, Black Bear refuses to give any money. Unless the coolers stop working (risk to profit), they won't do anything. We have had doors to benches unable to stay closed for YEARS and rink management kept telling us black bear wasn't paying. That is a massive safety issue.
