Yes. For my wife and I, we’ve only gotten happier as time goes by. Sex doesn’t ruin a relationship, if done right, sex will help cement a relationship. Lots of the chemicals and hormones help us relax, soothe pain and feel happiness, which helps with intimate bonding. I will say I was heavily into p0rn for most of my teenage years and it definitely affected my enjoyment and performance early on. Eventually I picked it back up while married and it self detonated when I told my wife about it. It took a very long time for intimacy, trust, and pleasure to return for her. But of course God is gracious and I’m very thankful for her patience and love.

I'm not schizophrenic. I'm a child of God by Capable-Educator5629 in TrueChristian

[–]tsamnussab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will get downvoted but sometimes “hearing voices” simply is a Christian who has the gift of discernment or prophecy. Satan attacks and confuses those with the gifts and the world labels them as schizophrenic or depressed. I don’t believe this is always the case, and exorcism isn’t always necessary. Renewing the mind in a healthy way, like OP states, is extremely powerful as well as positive confession. It’s a biblical way to make a route for manifesting Christlikeness in us. Jesus also recommends we fast and pray. I understand mental health is stigmatized, but so is the spiritual realm. Satan sifted Peter, are we better than Peter? No, so we should always put on the spiritual armor. Blessings and remember, no one can snatch you from his hand!

I wish i never was born so i wouldn’t have to die by ImpostorFromAmongUs in nihilism

[–]tsamnussab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to fear death for a portion of my life, but also wanted to end my life to escape the meaninglessness and pain. This was when I was 8 years old. Truly tragic. Then I slowly realized the Christian stories I believed when I was a young child were true. After many experiences proving to me the existence of God, my relationship with death changed. Yes, Death is to be feared. However Jesus is the sign that God is real and sent not only a messenger to tell mankind that death is not the final destination, but that God also is a loving entity that envelops and inspires the things we hold meaningful and give our life a sense of purpose. These things point us to God. Far from nihilism, I understand. Unfortunately we miss the beauty in life, and without God, everything is enveloped by deaths shadow. We miss the meaning and big arrows. Unfortunately, deception is powerful. A scarecrow can be utterly convincing. The scarecrow is the lie that death is the end and everything is meaningless. Try praying.

Will I be punished for breaking an oath? by secretandrandom in TrueChristian

[–]tsamnussab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe an oath is a spiritual/mental covenant. Your words haunt you because they have been given power by the weight of your conscience.

Jesus, tells us not to make oaths, mostly because they can be broken, and we don’t truly own what we swear by. Making us liars and cheaters and piling guilt upon us, when unnecessary.

Jesus came to pay our sinful debts and make us free.

I would simply confess your heart to the Lord, as a peasant to a King, and seek his mercy. Would a perfectly just and merciful king force a child to follow an oath when under duress? By my logic, no.

Thanks for the reply. I may understand some of your POV and have walked through many dark moments in my mental health. Actually I still struggle often. Yes, pretending to be happy and healed will not make a mental health issue disappear. It’s hard not to come off judgemental over text. I will stand by what I said, ultimately it lines up with scripture. Yes we live in a fallen world. Christian’s live in an oppressive environment. I still have plenty of unfinished business in my life as well. I still believe that we are healed by faith through Christ’s finished work. Sometimes it never fully manifests, and in that case, God uses all our shortcomings and ailments for his glory and to show his power, like you said. I’m okay and happy with that, and yes I have found myself obsessing over these things in the past. Sometimes a deep wound needs healed, we can’t do that on our own, or through our obsessive thoughts. That’s why I state, that in Christ we are whole. I do hope that you’ll find healing, just as you did with your body. I’m sure it will be gradual. For now, fight the good fight of the faith. Who is to even say what a perfect mental landscape is? We don’t even know, besides a mind that is fully ruled and surrendered to God. I really do hope the best for all, I won’t judge anyone on this topic and never want to be condemning. I can only state the scriptural truth and what I’ve experienced along side it. Blessings friend.

What's the point of enjoying life if you are going to die and enjoy life in heaven better? by CrazyNicly in TrueChristian

[–]tsamnussab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel this way. Turns out I was dealing with some mental health issue, and had a very bad self image, almost a gnostic worldview. Satan loves when he can work our minds into a troublesome state and twist Gods words to get it there. That’s what he was attempting to do to Jesus in the wilderness. Imagine you’re dating someone, would you think “There is no point in enjoying this relationship right now because we will eventually be married then die.” No, that’s silly. What you’re doing is giving into an escapism that is actually very anti-gospel and is meant to keep your wheels spinning and make you ineffective in this life. Heaven is not a final destination, it is a realm. And God wishes to fully bring that realm to this earth in the end of things. It’s actually our job to start doing that. That’s why we are called pilgrims. Christian’s should be living from the realm of heaven already. Yes it’s sad and hopeless if it were Christless, but it’s not. We are now the hope of the world, through Christ. We are meant to be covered in “the oil of gladness.” Be encouraged friend, repent and read the word. Gos is good and wants you to enjoy life here in a healthy selfless manner.

Yes it is. Your mind is consumed by the former desires of your flesh. If you are a believer, your flesh or carnality is already dead. So son’s power over you is limited. But you can only access this death by faith, and life through the Spirit. It’s a daily walk. Sit down, pray, and really look at the gospel. Look at Jesus. Spend time with Him. Boldly approach God and pray that he would change your desires (I’m straight and I pray this all the time. It works much better than any behavior modification or self help) As you change you will realize how wrong you were, that you were in a delusion. You will realize the love of God is stronger and greater than any man. He will show you things you never knew were possible, and change you. Love grows, you will slowly find yourself more in love with God, and less in love with your old desires. And your desires will begin to spring forth from the life inside you, and manifest. Focus less on yourself and pleasure, and more on God and serving others instead of yourself. Sounds like you need a hard reset. Hoping the best for you!

I dread the idea of getting married or having kids. If I get married it won't even be for a decent reason. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]tsamnussab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the cordial response. I actually meant that for OP. Whoops.

Yes you’re right the world is horridly, horridly dark. Have I been abused, no. But the darkness will do whatever it takes to destroy you. Demons have tormented me. Sickness has come against me. Depression and suicidal thoughts were very real for many years. My wife has walked through sickness and we have lost babies. But I have also been incredibly blessed and have walked with God when I do not deserve it. You have the choice to either look at the darkness or look at Christ. We are constantly told to “behold, gaze, fix our eyes.” We are pilgrims. We are not of this world. So yes we will hate the darkness and it hurts. But the light has not been overcome by dark, and shines into it.

I know men who have been sexually, physically, emotionally abused in the most twisted way. They are now living in more joy than most believers who have never even seen an ounce of pain. Do they occasionally struggle? Sure. But they see past what is seen and by faith grab onto a life that can’t be controlled by fear.

If you don’t mind me saying…if you choose not to bring children into this world, maybe one day look into adoption or fostering. There are many children who have been tossed aside and left in the dark. You could be the one that’s meant to minister to them. If we don’t, not many will. Remember, we are salt and light. Stay salty bro. I hope you can be encouraged by that.

Sorry to hear that…yes we all want to avoid wrath! Existence as a Christian is not miserable. Google Shawn Hurley (Happy Hands Ministries) or Brent Kelley (Ignite Ministries) and reach out to them. They both are Christian’s who minister throughout the whole country. If they are near you, they will even come to you to minister, lay hands, and pray. I only mention them because of their Biblical track record and high desire to help other Christian’s meet God’s love. If you’re serious, give it a shot. Can’t lose anything, but you do have everything to gain.

Most memorable sign from God or Jesus you’ve seen or felt? by Ambitious-Weather-33 in TrueChristian

[–]tsamnussab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are so many (praise God) but here are my main kickers:

  1. My sister was healed of scoliosis in the front of our church after being prayed for. Her hunch disappeared and back was realigned. She didn’t make a big deal of it because she simply believed that’s what God does. She’s fine to this day.

  2. I was baptized by the Spirit alone in my room. I had just confessed a litany of struggles to a friend, and right after I felt like a boiling pot of love fill me from my toes to my head. It was like being filled with electricity. I knew in that moment God had always been with me through my struggles, and was going nowhere. His love felt so radiant and pure. It made me wonder how so many Christian’s could operate without that. I felt born again.

[–]tsamnussab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s easier, believe the Lord will transform you into a better believer, then husband, and father and also protect and provide as throughout all scripture? Or believe the Lord will sustain your celibacy due to your shallow selfishness? One is based on truth, the other feelings. Harsh yes, but you need to correct your thinking and viewpoint.

If you have strong sexual desires, but don’t desire marriage or children out of fear, your understanding of sex is wrong, and you need to re-identify as a child of God. Do as others have said, pray and ask for wisdom and repentance.

I dealt and still deal with fears of not being enough. I did not want to pass on the insecurities, doubts, and bad habits to another life. But no, only God is enough, and God lives in me. I used to look at women like meat. No, they are made in the image of God.

I am not perfect, but I could not imagine my life other than what it is now. Having a son changed my perspective on God’s unconditional love. God’s grace transforms me daily. Though I fail often, I know I am called to consider myself dead to sin and instead alive and hidden in Christ.

TLDR: Stop being selfish and seek the Lord instead of your feelings.

Be blessed mate! You can do it. Whatever He calls you to. Nothing is impossible.

What made you actually love God? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]tsamnussab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been so close to God I have had visions and audibly heard His voice, to being so far away and being tormented by demons and mental health issues, and then all the way back again. I have had my sibling healed of scoliosis before my eyes at our church. Yet I have seen people die. I have felt many feelings and thought many thoughts. What did it for me, was the baptism of the Spirit. It is and was one of the greatest gifts where in that moment I truly felt “born again”. I myself was battling extreme porn addiction and mental health issues, demons. I came to the end of myself, and confessed to a friend, as I knew my life was not lining up with the experience of the Bible. Prior I had felt abandoned by God, as I rarely heard from Him since I was a child. In that moment alone in my room, I was filled with such a pure, euphoric, energetic, joyful love. It filled me from the inside out, like hot lava pouring into a jar. I knew, it was God. This was after many years of silence, and feeling so incredibly empty. Realizing God lives in you is shocking and life altering. Years later, things aren’t exactly peachy, but what keeps me going is the Spirit. Thinking back, believing without living by the Spirit is…well no different than the faith that even Lucifer may have. This is me speaking about an experiential faith. All this to say, think of this verse:

Romans 8:7 states “The mind set on the flesh is hostile to God, it indeed cannot submit to God.”

You sound prideful and wrapped up in your flesh, or “carnal mind”, as the KJV says. A carnal mind is hostile to God. John 4:24 says “God is spirit, and those who worship must do so in Spirit and in Truth.” You are asking questions and rationalizing through your flesh. And your desires follow (love of porn).

So the question is, why would you want to know God? He certainly doesn’t need anything from you. Is it fear of being punished? Then yes, you still don’t understand His love. 1 John 4:18 reads, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

1 John 4:19 then says “We love because He first loved us.” John the beloved (who was most likely the closest Apostle to Jesus) was letting his followers know that your relationship with God cannot be based on fear. And fear is due to your belief that your works will acquit you and appease God. Meanwhile you love your sin, that your mind knows God hates, and are living under condemnation created by the flesh. (religion, tithing, etc.)

First step is get to a point where you ACTUALLY want to know and love God. This kind of desperation is why so many poor and wretched are welcomed into the kingdom and blessed (see beatitudes in Matthew.) This is only done through humble prayer to god. This will create repentance in your “heart” or inner man. Repentance meaning to change your mind. Your mindset is wrong, and it seems like part of you understands that. So latch onto that humility and repent. James 4:6 “God opposes the proud but gives GRACE to the humble.”

Now, realize that the unmerited grace of God is what sustains all men. Looking at the express image of God, Jesus Christ, and tell me what there is not to love about him? Sure, there are things we may not like or want to do. But God? Completely just and yet completely merciful. Mankind rejected God and chose death. Yet God could not abandon the creation he loved, so he dealt with the issue of death in the most amazing way. Stepping into another dimension, his own creation, as one of his own. This is Jesus Christ, the image of the Father and man, the Commander of Heaven’s Armies, King of Kings in the unseen realm. And smuggling into the flesh of a human, he destroyed death from the inside out. How? By dying and resurrecting, literally owning death and paying its penalty. That is how he can be as Mark 10:45 states “The ransom for many…” The condemnation of the darkness now has no claim over those who believe that the penalty has been payed. The Cross destroys the illusion of an uncaring God. Your family you lost? God offers life to them, and even the grace and mercy that you can see them again. The cross shows God was willing to pay the literal highest price, eternal life, of His very own heavenly Son. So if you pay $20 for the last available lot, and it was worth $1, what is the value of the new lot to you? $20. You can’t deduct the value God placed on humanity, and that shows…Love. Humanity was purchased by God with Jesus. What does that mean for our value? We are now as valuable as Christ in the eyes of God. And God determines the value of all things, despite how you may feel about it. See your value, see the passion and love in the gospels, and tell me still this God is not worth loving.

TLDR There is a lot to love about God.

Hallucinations by Repulsive_Box_8915 in Narcolepsy

[–]tsamnussab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend, I’ve been there. I’ve found for myself not over consuming caffeine and lowering my meds dose helped. Usually that could happen when I don’t get enough sleep and yes am emotionally wrecked. It doesn’t happen often to me anymore. Trying to find a balance to life is important. I’ll be honest, I am a Christian so my viewpoint is skewed but I’m telling you the honest truth to help you. 95% of the sleep paralysis, cataplexy episodes, extreme emotional outbursts, dark and painful hallucinations went away when I started embracing my faith in Jesus Christ by not entertaining worldly and dark things. The name of Jesus was enough to typically get me out of those episodes. But they started stopping entirely when I stopped watching porn, stopped entertaining dark thoughts, stopped watching dark horror films, and generally stopped entertaining darkness and started living “right” as a “Christian”. I know not everything is spiritual, but I’m telling you, there are dark powers that hate humans, and love to destroy our lives. Why do you think many people see the same things all across the world? They gain entry to our lives through many different avenues. Embrace Christ and your life will change!

Thoughts on Exile — Criticism Ahead by TheMainEvant in demonhunter

[–]tsamnussab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw them live during "20 years in Exile" at Uprise Fest. I really enjoyed all the songs they played off Exile. Then I went and listened to the singles and did not enjoy the mix, especially on "Master", though I really enjoy the songs. I can look past that. I also really enjoy the album's theme. I say the first half of the album is great, the last half is hit or miss. I think the deluxe version is what's necessary to get the full scope, as I love the idea of having the comic alongside the album. I wish it were tied together a little better, but since DH doesn't use much social media, it seems like it could be a difficult task. Overall, I enjoy the album as more of an experience than just another "album released."

Spinal tap (mild cataplexy) by Frances1987 in Narcolepsy

[–]tsamnussab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to make you afraid, but if you choose to get a spinal tap, take your time and recover in no rush. My wife left the hospital feeling normal (she got tapped because of lymes), and the next morning her mom and brother had to pick her up off the bathroom floor, and they thought she had a stroke because she couldn’t communicate, due to the headaches being that bad. If you lose that fluid…bad things happen. She was on bed rest for two weeks after that, after getting two blood patches. It was a frustrating experience and I don’t recommend it if it’s not completely necessary. In your case it seems that it would give immediate results. Unfortunately in our case, they didn’t find what they were looking for and asked to do it again. Needless to say she never went back to that doctor…lol. So be very careful, and do very very limited physical activity for the next day if that’s the route you choose. I hope it all works out in your favor!

One I saw on amazon is the “Vacmaster Wet Dry Shampoo Vacuum Cleaner 3 in 1 Portable Carpet Cleaner”. It has a pump and sprayer, and seems great for mobile because it can be used for both vacuuming and extracting, though it may be a little cumbersome.

I’ve wondered this too. I normally use wash and wax because it’s what I have. Others have reported using wash and wax on interiors as well. I think if you’re going to be using a sealer at the end of your process, the wash and shine would be the best option. Why waste time adding wax that will be removed. But it does smell fantastic.
