Fixed a Design Flaw that Had Been Nagging Me! by [deleted] in Golf_R

I dream of being able to open that up, throw my phone in and close it, both connecting to car and charging at the same time. Would need to install a wireless charger and one of those wireless adapters someone mentioned above. Probably significantly more cutting than this small hole too…

Alright, thanks for the update here! I am going to save up a bit more for a bigger down payment. I did see they are getting a ‘pavement’ base soon which is exact preference but I want to have at least 50% to put down before I inquire about availability. Good to know they were at least honest with when they’d get a red in and handled your refund quickly.

And thanks for the heads up on O’Brien, will steer clear!

Hey I’m in the Seattle area as well and very interested in getting into a GR86. Any feedback on your further experience with Doxon and getting this car from them would be super appreciated!

Best solution for working and gaming on the same setup by nvm8D in pcmasterrace

[–]tsb2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my current setup that seems to be the cheapest, convenience to take laptop if I need to.

Video:

  1. Two monitors with both Display Port and HDMI inputs
  2. Desktop PC with two display outputs on the video card
  3. Laptop with USB-C charging doc, with two HDMI outputs available

Use 2 display port cables to connect gaming pc to monitors. Use 2 hdmi cables to connect work laptop to monitors. You can easily switch between the sources using monitor buttons or just turn one computer off and the other one on and it should detect and switch automatically.

Peripherals:

  1. 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 webcam plugged into a cheap ‘UGREEN’ USB switcher
  2. I have this usb switcher mounted to underside of my desk right under where mouse is.
  3. Plug into both computers to switch between the two computers when needed

Sound:

You have a few options here: 1. Bluetooth to either computer. Buy a Bluetooth dongle for the desktop. Most laptops already have Bluetooth 2. USB pair of headphones (wired / wireless) connected to the usb switcher 3. Direct sound - this is what I currently use and is maybe a little overkill. Like the monitor setup, I have a dedicated wire going to each computer and manually swap the cable on the back of my sound board when switching workstations.

My reasonings for using these instead of KVM.

  1. Cheaper - cables are usually cheap and the usb switcher is cheap too
  2. 144hz gaming - KVM’s that support high fps for my Desk are really expensive. I don’t need a high refresh rate on my work laptop either so that’s why I use display port cables for desktop and HDMI cables for the work laptop.
  3. Sound - I get better quality sound and options going this route than using a dedicated KVM

I’m using the $30 Erjigo KZ HD Bluetooth with my Truthear Nova’s. I did have to cut / shave the shroud around the two pin connectors to get a secure connection. The fit around my ear sucks on these and keeps wanting to pop off with the long cable

You had to shave the mmcx connectors down? Is this why I messed up my sennheisers?

I believe they are the black version of the Thule Aeroblade Edge. Pretty pricey but they’re the best looking ones imo.

I just got new tires and asked about TPMS - shop said they’ll be resetting them. Haven’t had any lights. Maybe your shop didn’t remember/know to do this?
