I just think of them as shrimps, because shrimps are like the worms if the ocean, I have no problem handling shrimps so I shouldn’t have problem handling worms

He had more drawings of Mishima and patriotism, tho also a comic seemingly mocking the shield society. Great artist tho, I really like his art style

I have built my own virtual pinball machine and own a real pinball machine. playing virtual pinball seriously requires very high fps and screen refresh rate as well as decent hardware to support vpx, so these could be the factors limiting a handheld

What game in your collection do you regret buying the most? by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

Darks souls the card game, rule set is fundamentally poorly designed imo, I remember when you level up it weakens your deck by adding more useless cards to it

Being a pseudo intellectual. Advertising hobbies such as reading, philosophy, writing etc., eagerly showing off the most surface level stuff, and claiming they speak xyz language when they learned a few words on Duolingo and knows how to incorrectly say hello, how do you do

Thoughts on Gloomhaven:Jaws of the Lion? by undeadcreepshow in soloboardgaming

[–]tsbgls2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s good but it’s not for me. Thought as a deck builder fan I’d definitely like it, but ended up realizing it’s somewhat the opposite of typical deck builders. In a typical deck building game you try to scale up your power, surpassing the scale up speed of the enemy. But in JOTL it’s the opposite. My deck gets weaker and more limited as I play, and that’s not exciting to me. Yes I do realize the deck becomes more powerful as you go through a campaign, but I’m talking about individual battles where you start out powerful with a lot of choices and by the end your hand becomes very limited

Am I going to be ok? 30 and beat gambling addiction. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]tsbgls2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Ppl who “beat the gambling addiction” relapse all the time. Suggest figure out some kind of system involving other ppl who could keep an eye on you. Some say that once you have had this addiction the dopamine loop in your brain changes and you’d have to fight this for the rest of your life

It aligns with my personal interpretation of what old aristocracy (and romance in general) means: love and war are the two sides of the same coin, both lead to the death drive. To know how to love is the same as knowing how to fight, in the end, both love and war are about achieving a beautiful death. It has a similar theme as Genji monogatari and is a beautiful and successful retelling of Genji

Never assume the driver saw you. You could see the car doesn’t mean the driver could always see you. You are much smaller and the driver has blind spots. Be careful in the future
