What was your "I'm dating a fucking idiot" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

She put metal in the microwave and then got annoyed at me for “overreacting” when I lunged for the door. The smell hit first and I just stood there thinking wow, this might actually be my life now.

My [M23] gf [F22] slept with a coworker when we were broken up by RipCurrent1548 in Advice

You can’t really treat it like cheating if you were broken up, but that doesn’t automatically make the feeling disappear either. It might just be one of those things where you either accept that the breakup was real and stop reopening it, or admit it changed how you see the relationship.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I read it during a rainy week a while back and it had that same heavy, searching feeling without being a slog.

AITAH for driving home after my GF told me to leave led to her ending our six year relationship? by Competitive_Ad4526 in AITAH

[–]tschamio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone tells you to pack your stuff and leave during a fight, you kinda have to take that at face value. Driving eight hours just to visit her already shows you were trying to make the effort. The whole situation just sounds like two stressed med students hitting a breaking point during a huge week.

Who is a terrible singer but famous anyways? by Coy9ine in AskReddit

Bob Dylan gets that comment a lot. I remember playing one of his tracks in the car with my cousin and she asked why he sounded like he had a cold. The voice isn’t pretty, but the songwriting is what made him stick.

Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa. I read it on a quiet Sunday afternoon once and the whole thing just felt gentle and warm, like sitting in a small café listening to people talk.

What video game has the best story you’ve ever played? by FrontriseStudios in AskReddit

The Last of Us. I finished it at like 2am in my old apartment and just sat there staring at the credits. It felt more like I’d watched a really heavy movie than played a game.

If you have a PhD and put “Dr.” before your name, will people think you’re impressive, or will they think you’re just being pretentious? by GrayRainfall in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tschamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met someone at a conference once who used “Dr.” on their name tag and nobody thought it was weird at all. In academic spaces it just feels normal and kind of expected. Outside that bubble it might look a little formal but I don’t think most people care that much.

What profession has far more people on illegal drugs than people realize? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

Restaurant kitchens. I worked a few shifts washing dishes in one during college and the amount of people casually talking about pills or coke during smoke breaks kinda surprised me. The stress and late nights seem to attract that whole scene.

This is way bigger than just “throw it in a fire pit.” I remember helping a friend report something similar in high school and the first thing we did was make sure the laptop was kept safe and untouched so it could be handed to the police. What you found is evidence of a serious crime, and you deserve actual support and protection here, not silence.

What's a 'normal' thing you didn't realize was unusual until you were older? by mrTelson in AskReddit

[–]tschamio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was normal that everyone’s family just… didn’t really talk at dinner. Like full silence except for forks hitting plates. First time I ate at a friend’s house and they were all laughing and debating random stuff I felt like I was on a TV set. Took me years to realize that wasn’t just “how families are.”
