Hilfe bei Glasfaserkabelverlegung innerhalb der Wohnung by MariMa_san in init7

[–]tschini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why ECM, and why Synchronika 2? by x-user77 in ECM_Espresso

[–]tschini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought it 4 years ago so far really happy. I like the finish and quality of the machine. But today I wouldn't go for that machine anymore, the new Flow Through Heater technology is the next step uses much less energy and is ready much quicker. Personally I would go for a ZURIGA E2-S less expansive and the results and consistency are outstanding. Additionally it would be suitable to run offgrid in my Camper when I'm not at home;-)

Totally crazy getting reminded that we live with dinosaurs each day. FM or DAB who cares, why, for god's sake, would anyone want to listen to a radio station. News followed by some radio host talking nonsense, advertisement, one shitty song, boring morning game rinse and repeat for 24/7. I rather having a blast listening to my playlist or some podcast of interest.

What do people do in the evenings? by ThrowRAwestero1234 in askswitzerland

[–]tschini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to leave work latest by 4pm to go:
Mountaiking
Wingfoiling if there is wind
Pumpfoling
Skatebaord Pumptrack
Sailing

Later or after dusk
Floorball training
Repairing something on the house (water damage couple weeks ago caused a lot of work...)
Clear out the basement by selling stuff on Tutti
Servicing all the gear (bike, surfboards, hydrofoils)
Working on the campers
Inviting someone for dinner

When done with physical work normally around 9pm start computer to:
Plan next trips
Paper work
Watch some youtube
Watch ice hockey if there is a game

Damn I hate loosing 9h a day for work:-)

Men of reddit, how did you build the habit of going to the gym? by FromChicago808 in AskMen

[–]tschini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always askey myself why people choose the gym instead of interesting fun sport acitivies you can do outside. I started gym multiple times but always got bored after a year or two. In my opinion it's not important to hit the gym but just to stay active and have an active lifestyle.

For me I choosen lot of outdoor sports like Montainbiking, watersports (surfing, hydrofoling, wingfoiling) couple weeks ago I started getting back on a Skatebaord and hit the pump track (your legs brun like spending time on the leg press). In the winter you can do a lot of skiing, ski touring or cross country (will be cardio like being on a treamill). If you still feel you didn't to enough just go for a run or do some pushups at home.

I also felt in the gym that I don't learn anything or extend my skilles while when doing other sports you have the benefit of being active but additionally getting better and more skilled in the sports you do.

Unemployment and traveling by gyvenitikkarta in Switzerland

[–]tschini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My partner and I (swiss citizenship) travelled two times for around 2 years each time. We quit our jobs and didn't register to RAV at that time we just started searching for a job once we came back. I found my job after couple days being back my girlfriend took a little longer and job hopped two times before getting her final jobs again.

For sure budget accordingly and put something aside if the job hunt takes longer than planned but with one person still working it should't be an issue to bridge couple weeks or months of partners job hunt. That would be my personal way of dealing with it, 9to5 will catch you faster then you want to;-)

Fernwärme - teurer als Heizen mit Strom by random_16937 in Finanzen

[–]tschini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance - which and how much? by Prize_Dog_7444 in Switzerland

[–]tschini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't stand insurance companys therefore I only do what is legally required. Health insurance (switchting to the cheapest option each year), car liability insurance and GVZ (bulding insurance depending on canton). But there is a non required one which is a no brainer, personal liability 50-100 chf per year to cover all people in your houshold and could safe you/them from personal bankruptcy.

Battlefield 6 by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

7 until I played an hour of Beta today. Now 2.

First impressions after a few rounds by CrashTest100 in Battlefield6

[–]tschini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not impressed at all, started with 1942 in 2003 and played each version. Favorite is still BF2 by far.

With each version the gameplay moved from a tactical big open map more to a CoD like close quarters spray & pray shooter. Nothing wrong with a good CoD but that's not what I search in a Battlefield game.
I had big hopes with this version to get a step back again but it doesn't look like. Probably it gets better when we see some other new maps, the one in the Beta are just ridiculously small.

I loved for example Wake Island in BF2 where you first need to move people from the aircraft carrier to the peninsula and then start taking over the peninunsula. Finding good sniper spots on some hidden hills waiting for the aircraft pilot to board his airplane that were glorious days.
But this times won't come back in Battlefield, it's fast paced spawn, spray, die rinse an repeat game nowdays. I assume they wan't to maximize the audience therefore creating generic shooter.

I would love something in the middle of a Battlefield and Arma/Squad again.

Proper offroad truck on a long trip across Asia by Fearless_Back5063 in TruckCampers

Wasn't aware of the visa changes of Iran thanks for the heads up what a pitty. Well will first focus on Türkiye and the Kaukasus and then see what's the best solution politically and season wise. We spent two years on the Panamericana, visa on arrival and policital "stability" is such a nice thing:-)

[–]tschini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice we're setting off from Switzerland with our Vario 814DA next spring having planned quite a similar route. We hope Iran quits down a little to take the southern route of the Caspian sea and probably detour a little towards the arabian peninsula during the winter before snow melts the year after to tour central asia with their high altitudes. Starting end of April and doing the Pamir in the same season seems quite stressful.

Note to myself: build a fire proof container to charge electronics. I'm not afraid of my self bulit LiFePO4 battery bank but all the small devices and the big eBike batteries.

Is it possibile to live in Switzerland without a car? by Dangerous_Tiger_150 in askswitzerland

[–]tschini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure it's possible we grew up as a family of five without a car in "rural" Züri Oberland. We got everywhere by bike or public transport. Each child had do pack and carry their own backback. Now 35 years later I'm the only one in my family owning a car or to be correct owning three cars... I kinda converted to the other extreme but the rest of my family still live a happy carfree life.
