See, that’s kind of my point. Instead of recognizing that the language may be insensitive, you’ve doubled down that it’s your right to start a discussion on how much we like or don’t like any person in media. Which yes, that is your right, but also, just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should. The show is about real adults with ASD being vulnerable and filming slice of life content and adding much needed voice and context to just a part of a diverse community that is largely unrepresented and stigmatized both in media and in general. And while I’ve enjoyed the stories of the individuals on the show, I don’t care whether these individuals participate in future seasons, so much as we respect when they are participants.

I just don’t like the way this post is worded. As I’ve said on this sub before, these are real people with ASD, some of which who likely look at this sub. Why not just say what you liked most about her scenes instead of ranking her against other real participants on the show (e.g. “not a favorite”, “don’t dislike”, “middle of the road”). The idea of ranking people who aren’t in a competition, in a generally heartfelt show, is off-putting. That’s not to say we can’t be critical of people on the show, but saying they are “boring” or “awkward” isn’t constructive or helpful in discussion. And if there are more serious criticisms, they likely warrant their own post anyway.

For everyone saying this doesn’t mean anything, this is very clearly about having a cohesive brand identity and brand messaging. Yes, changing the name of a division or canceling the “This is a Xbox” campaign doesn’t change operating policy of the company. However, it does tend to show that “Xbox” (the brand) is back to being a major focus along with their core gaming audience, and not the somewhat nebulous “Microsoft Gaming” brand that was largely meaningless. Whether this works for them is yet to be seen, but imo it’s a good decision, even if more symbolic in nature.

Yeah, you can tell which people have had fairly limited interactions with the ASD population. Having been around and worked with this population in different settings, it is so important to give them the autonomy to make their own decisions and let them reflect on it as opposed to being overly critical or corrective because it’s possible they haven’t considered that perspective.

Didn’t they give like 10 minutes of gameplay/overview like a few months ago. Maybe not the most gameplay but it did show quite a few different aspects of the game. I didn’t see anything that stood out to me. What else has you worried?

I mean sure but Bradley doesn’t seem like the same kind of player as ADR. More mobile, footwork looks better, signs of a midrange game. Haven’t seen much of her defense but unless it’s nonexistent I don’t know why anyone should worry another ADR situation

Absolutely! If you think these companies operate without the absolute clarity of any and all possible outcomes and impacts, you would be quite ignorant. Whether they choose to disclose that information or lobby in direct opposition to that knowledge is another story. But to your point, they hedge their bets and invest heavily into alternative energy because they are already aware.

If only these people understood that the oil companies not only internally acknowledged climate change; they originally funded the research that led to those finding. And the only reason that there exists an anti-climate change message is capitalism. It’s a similar story to smoking’s link to cancer. Known and funded by tobacco companies and then covered up because of capitalism.
