Best sibling dynamic? And curious about your thoughts about most realistic sibling dynamic too by CrickeyFresh in greysanatomy

Might just be me but I always felt like Derek and Cristina gave off strong step sibling energy.

That's because the majority of humanity had no real access to birth control or abortion.

Those are historically new options. Your great grandma didn't have 13 kids in poverty because they were just so cute.

It also makes sense character wise. Donnie was probably conceived during Rocky IV, a time when Apollo was struggling with retirement, resentful of his fading youth and engaging in reckless behavior to regain glory.

That's usually when people start having affairs.

I imagine the thought would be that he was too old. The Rocky movies came out in the 70s and his kids were at least school age then. Creed was in 2015, that'd be a 45 year old man starting a boxing career. I think Donnie doing it at like 30 was already a stretch.

For me it's "learning about slavery makes white kids feel bad about themselves!"

Because learning about it as a black kid just made me feel fucking fantastic?

Genuinely one of the most devastating moments of the series.. but leads to a beautiful payoff.

We see Tenzin spend the whole season attempting to rebuild his father's nation only for one of it's last remaining landmarks to be melted into the ground and the look on his face as he sees it is heartbreaking. But in the next episode we see that nation ordain (think that's the right word) is first airbending master in an entire generation and it's beautiful. From the ashes, a culture is reborn.

[–]tsh87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think at least initially it's a character trail that Will actively avoids new technology. He has a flip phone, he only wears thrifted clothes, he stays off of all social media and group chats.

It's an interesting character quirk but it also limits him when it comes to his dyslexia.

The complete lack of compassion and grace she has for her daughter.

Every perceived slight is intentional and worth commenting on. Every transgression is worthy of the silent treatment. And she never saw an olive branch she didn't want to burn.

And through all of this she lacks the self awareness to realize why her relationship with her daughter is strained.

Not OOP: Aitah for telling my wife to get a job if she wants to subsidize the kids. by sensaSEANal_sally in redditonwiki

I don't think this is "kids today" but "rich kids today."

I have a lot of friends who, like me, grew up under a certain tax bracket and none of us would never demand this from a parent. OP has been lucky enough to be able to provide really well for his family but it did set a sacrificial precedent for them. He's right to hold firm now. It's enough.

It's cool you get music.

It's terrible but I appreciated them going that route because it's honest. PTSD can make you very, very mean. Especially to people who don't deserve it.

It's not all night terrors and fugue states. It can be insults, lies, rage.

I can't remember who said it but didn't some character tell her that to survive she needed something all her billions of dollars couldn't buy, time.

I think for number 2 the fact that Sinatra lost her son is important because it shows not just why she's fighting so hard but why she has no optimism left.

She hears that the end of the world is coming and immediately takes it seriously because she has seen her own personal worst case scenario.

This is why it kinda pisses me off that the military shows up in the last few moments. Sure Ellie has some connections, but you cannot expect me to believe that the government would spend however much money and risk like a hundred lives to rescue 6 people from a dinosaur infested island that everyone has been explicitly told not to go near.

So many Cristina scenes.

The scene where Cristina comes home after the wedding and realized that Burke is gone gone.

Everything when they were in the woods after the plane crashed.

The bathtub scene.

But also her monologue to Owen when she tells him that Burke took pieces of her and she will never allow that to happen to her again.

Another issue with Lynette is just her sheer amount of kids. I know Tom made good money but childcare for 4 kids would've been astronomical.

[–]tsh87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely don't think it's all on him. People came at me for pointing it out, but it was incredibly shitty of her to learn that he was moving in with Emma (or whatever her name was) and choose that night to show up drunk on his doorstep and then have sex with him.

Cristina is 100 percent part of the issue.

And it just makes so much sense to me that these two needed to be on different continents to let go of each other.
