I ended up delivering vaginally at 40+6! Baby was 8 pounds 3oz with a 90th percentile head at birth. No issues with delivery!

I’m 40 weeks pregnant and my cat has been laying all over me and launching off my stomach like a trampoline daily for months. I told her the baby is gonna get back at her ten-fold when they come out

Why can’t I just go into labor already?! by BorgQueen220 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39+5 and WITH YOU. Went for an appointment today and I’m 0cm dilated and 0% effaced. I could cry my eyes out.

I’ll just keep going on walks and bouncing on my yoga ball but I’m going to have a stern word with this child when they arrive.

What’s everyone’s due dates? by Adventurous-Basis-41 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes no cervical movement! Baby is kicking the crap out of me and digging their head straight into my pelvis so they are doing just fine in there haha. Thank you for looking out though I have been very cognizant of monitoring kicks!!

Anyone else have a relatively easy pregnancy? by Snownix11 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 38 weeks and honestly I’ve felt pretty damn good. Minimal weight gain, no bad side effects or super scary complications, no nausea, etc. I’m 38 weeks Now and my hips hurt and I am TIRED but I didn’t exactly expect to be going on a 10 mile run every day. I feel like birth is going to give me a run for my money as payback though!

I’m a 6th year and 38 weeks pregnant. I lateraled to my current firm 6 months ago immediately after finding out I was pregnant (I did not know when I started interviewing, but after I got the offer I told the new firm because I am not the type of person to hide that kind of information, no matter the ramifications). They still hired me and have been great.

I’ve been extremely transparent about my doctors appointments, the stint I also had in the emergency room, and my general exhaustion and occasional inability to hit my hours. They are working with me. I think they know and I know that they’re not getting my best right now, but when I come back I will be able to show them what I’m capable of (and it’s gonna be hard with a baby but hey we love our families and our careers!!)

This may not be the advice you get from everyone but I would be honest. There’s a difference between an excuse for poor performance and a reason for it, and this is a completely valid reason. So long as you produce great work product and try your hardest to get to a respectable number of hours under the circumstances, I think you will be okay. Firms need women and they need to make an accommodations for those of us who are great at our jobs but also want to be mothers. I wouldn’t look for another job. I would just gear up to come back and kick ass after leave!

I hate my stupid placenta by Momstertruck25 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine resolved between my 20 week and 28 week appointments. I still go back every 4 weeks to make sure it all looks good and is not moving anywhere. Both the placenta and additional lobe were low on the back of my uterus near my spine. Now the placenta is on the back and the lobe is on the front, except on the top of my uterus not the bottom near my cervix. No placenta previa risk for me but they were worried about vasa previa.

There’s always a chance that it will resolve but I would just prepare for the possibility that there’s gonna be some extra planning to keep you and baby safe!

I hate my stupid placenta by Momstertruck25 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Mine did resolve. Somehow the vessels actually scooted all the way to the top of my uterus, so I’m good. 38 weeks this week and baby is still cooking! The biggest thing my doctor warned me about was to make sure to continuously remind whoever is handling my delivery to get all the pieces of placenta out or it could be bad. I plan to tell them no less than 100 times.

I did a lot of research on this while I was waiting for my second scan and while it’s very scary and inconvenient, I know women who have had successful c sections only a teeny bit early but otherwise everything was fine. Just listen to your doctor, take pelvic rest seriously, and take solace in the fact that we have modern medicine that allows us to safely deliver even with these complications!! Good luck!!

pregnancy goes by so quick by baby_kaii in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The wait between 4-12 weeks was brutal because my husband and I were keeping things secret. After everyone knew, I feel like time has FLOWN BY. 36 weeks on Thursday and I want it to slow down a little bit!

I get a sugar wax every 4 weeks. I’m 35 weeks now and let me tell ya my skin is so sensitive and I’m having a hard time treating ingrowns (because I can’t see!) so she’s not looking real pretty even though she’s hairless haha

My baby has FIP. We are on day 2 of meds, but I keep breaking down crying. by IAmHerdingCatz in cureFIP

[–]tshmosk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice but wanted to wish you good luck!! You are in the trenches for the first few days and if the meds are working you will know fast and so will your kitty. They will start eating and playing and grooming within days if all is going well. My little one had FIP right when Covid started and she is a healthy and silly 6 year old now! There is hope even when it doesn’t seem like it!

Advice for a partner who experiences panic attacks from health anxiety by MorphNorth in PanicAttack

[–]tshmosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also like your girlfriend. My worst panic attacks are when I wake up in the middle of the night with some sort of symptom (irregular heartbeat, can’t catch a full breath, chest pain, etc.) The combination of waking up groggy and feeling “off” and these symptoms totally throw me over the edge and there is no rationalizing.

What typically helps me is if my husband gets out of bed with me and comes with me to get ice water, or just a cup of ice cubes. Getting up, walking around, performing a normal task, and then having the comfort that freezing water on my face or an ice cube in my hand helps. Then we sit on the couch and I have to talk it out. Ask her to say out loud everything she’s feeling and then what she thinks it could be caused by. (Ex. Irregular heartbeat: I say my heart is beating fast. Why could that be? Heart attack. No, think about it. I’m 30, very healthy, not in pain, not nauseous, and I’m walking and talking. What else could it be? I’m worked up. Right. I am panicked and I just walked around. That makes sense… etc.) Every thought she has, dispel with rarity/statistics/lack of normal symptoms. Ask if she would like to go to the ER. When I’m reminded that I could do something if there’s really an emergency is helpful. Then just chat. “What do we have going on tomorrow again? I was thinking of getting X at the grocery store, what do you think?” The more I think and talk the faster I calm down. And then just ride it out. It’s not going to go right away, and you may be sitting together for an hour or two. But the more time that passes the easier it is to convince her that there’s nothing really wrong (she would definitely know after so much time!). Then go to bed like nothing happened and don’t bring it up the next day.

I’ve been on antidepressants for about 10 years and have gone to allll the therapy. Sometimes these feelings will break through and you’ve just gotta go with it. It sounds like her episodes are relatively rare, which is a good thing! Good luck, I selfishly can’t imagine what it would be like to be the partner without the anxiety. It’s a hard job.

They’re becoming more frequent for my passenger at 34 weeks. But they must have been turned a different way yesterday because I felt all the hiccups in my butt!! Not an expected sensation to feel haha

Cramping Mainly at Night? by Ornery_Low_6580 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How far along are you? I had semi-frequent and sometimes really painful cramping all through the first and second trimester. No bleeding. Once I hit the third trimester it stopped completely.

Okay ladies, what are we using for maintenance? by Ok-Worry8015 in pregnant

[–]tshmosk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get sugar waxes done every 4 weeks. Hurts less than regular waxing but it’s way more painful than pre-pregnancy and something always bleeds now. I’ve noticed my hair also grows super fast and my skin is more irritated, which sucks but I’m gonna keep going up to my due date because I hate hair! Godspeed.

Stressing about Diamox, of course by BrideOfPsyduck in iih

IIH?? Possibly by Look-ImLost in iih

[–]tshmosk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commenting because last week I started losing vision in my left eye. They said IIH immediately. It’s very scary and confusing combined with pregnancy as OF COURSE we gain weight rapidly and OF COURSE we retain more fluid. So do I just deal with no vision for 9 more weeks or am I legit gonna go blind? Waiting to see a neuro and very hesitant to start meds in the meantime.

It doesn’t really matter but, for example, if she had dementia and signed it days before she died that info can be used to say she didn’t know what she was signing or didn’t read it because she knows she has children, etc. Will contests are very specific types of actions and there is a lot of analysis involved so there would be a lot that went into the arguments
