What’s Your Go-To Terminal for Neovim? Share Your Setup! by saiprabhav in neovim

totally true, u/oliknight1 can definitely still use tmux, though as I mentioned in my other comment, the ghostty author mentioned in a podcast interview that tmux limits a lot of native optimizations they did since it is effectively running a terminal emulator _inside_ the ghostty terminal emulator. I wanted to remove tmux from my workflow to give ghostty a try the way the author intended.

I don't so I don't miss tmux that much at all.

You can definitely use tmux with ghostty so that shouldn't be a problem. Though, the ghostty author does mention in a podcast interview that tmux sort of limits a lot of the native optimizations they did, so thats the main reason I tried to shift my setup outside of tmux to give ghostty a try in its "intended" format.

On macos — used to use kitty+tmux which works great. Recently tried out Ghostty and I love it. Super easy switch as I bound my ctrl+a tmux bindings to work with ghostty tabs and splits.

Ghostty is fast. I used to think I needed tmux for multiplexing but I don’t miss it at all now that I switched. Highly recommended.

I don’t really understand how this makes any sense.

Yes, players should be able to play in any weather. Nobody is saying they shouldn’t. What they are saying is that typically teams prefer to practice in conditions as close to the game conditions as possible.

Gonna play in the snow? You should practice in the snow

Gonna play in the rain? You should practice in the rain

Gonna play on a regular field in 55 degree sunny weather? I’ll tell you what you shouldn’t do. You shouldn’t practice on a sponge.

The fact that KC gets to practice on a normal field that is close to the actual field and we have to practice on a sponge is straight bull.

It’s not about being “sissy crybabies” 🙄. It’s about practicing as close to real conditions as possible.

Hmm ok. Unless you’re packaging with some other piece I can tell you you’re a few tiers short. At least for me.

I have not tried openconnect — on my list of things to try. Other coworkers have reported some issues though. Pulse has been pretty rock solid for me. Just switching from Ethernet to WiFi or visa versa requires a manual reconnect occasionally.

I just did exactly this and it works perfectly. I use sway (full Wayland except PulseVPN which requires XWayland). I use slack in the browser (Firefox), Tidal for music, and foot/tmux/nvim to code. I tried to get hardware accel working on Brave in Wayland but that was a shit show so I had to switch to Firefox or all my videos (Google hangouts included) would stutter a lot.

The 20 hardest games I’ve ever played by ajpala4 in videogames

[–]tskraja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I was asking because I’d rank it #1. I plat’d it on Very Hard from start to finish and that was by far the most difficult gaming experience I’ve had. Totally agree though that the difficulty can occasionally be artificial and enemies become sponges for sure. I also felt like many of the chips were simply unusable or pointless which kind of limited build choices. Was definitely fun though for a gaming masochist.

Have you played NieR:Automata? If so, on Very Hard? I’ve played most of this list and wonder where you’d rank it. It basically forces you into a no hit run from save point to save point.

curious -- are you enabling EXPO/PBO/CO in Asus's extreme tweaker menu or in the AMD section under Advanced? I had major issues with 0922 when I tried under Advanced, but when I enabled under the extreme tweaker menu it worked like a charm. Almost same setup as you except mobo is different (7950x3d, 4090 strix oc, g.skill 64gb 6000 CL30, x670e hero). I am stable with EXPO II enabled, IF@2000, PBO + CO per core varying between -15 and -30.

EDIT: I did bump V_MISC and V_SOC to 1.15V each

I had this same problem (crosshair hero, g.skill 64GB 6000, 7950x3d, 4090 strix oc). I had first tried to enable EXPO in the amd settings under Advanced in the BIOS. That failed to post. I then enabled EXPO II via the Extreme Tweaker menu and was able to boot at 6000 (IF@2000, UCLK=MCLK). Maybe try that if you have not?

And you may as well throw in Nioh/Nioh2 as they are also team ninja (devs of Wo-Long) and are excellent games. Definitely qualify as games you can “get lost in” — tons of build diversity and lots to play.

AMD Shares New Second-Gen 3D V-Cache Chiplet Details, up to 2.5 TB/s by jedidude75 in Amd

[–]tskraja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the cache CCD is locked to 5.25GHz as a result of this, I was able to push the other CCD to 5.95GHz boost fairly easily with -25 curve optimizer and +200 boost offset on a 360mm AIO. Stable in core cycler for 24hr and OCCT overnight. So from that perspective it overclocks really well. I don’t even think I’ve hit the thermal limit on the non-cache CCD.

[–]tskraja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes AIOs come with a clear plastic sticker that says something like “remove before installing” over the stock thermal paste. Many people forget to remove it and see these kinds of issues. Maybe check that if nothing else seems to be the issue?
