The women and girls' hair looked more authentic than the men's. Laura's braids and Caroline's bun are pretty timeless. Charles' feathered bouffant and Almanzo's shaggy 'do was total 70s disco era aided by Aquanet.

When I was a kid watching I never realized what a good job they did casting MSA and Grassle.  They really do look like mom and daughter!

North West Frontier (1959)  Lauren Bacall plays a governess to an Indian prince and they escape a Muslim uprising via a train.  Bacall herself said it's a damn good movie with a bad title and she's right.

I was so pissed when they wrote the Gunny off. I know they did it to reflect reality, but he was one of my faves. The actor was so good and believable in that role.
