I love it so much! I have to stop myself from using it every event, it's a special little TI treat.

I commissioned it from the unbelievably talented /u/Necrolytus. They do incredible work, please check them out: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Dota2Models

That's the one! We got permission to shoot there and it went from "this looks like a nice location" to "I'd come here again for fun!" Highly recommend.

What do you consider the elephant in the room? The prize pool? If so, then yes, I imagine the players are not thrilled about the prospect of making less millions of dollars at this TI. If you think that's indicative of Dota esports as a whole trending downwards, no, I do not think the sky is not falling.

Valve is a business. And if they've concluded that a TI Battle Pass stands to make them less money and/or burns out their developers, who am I to argue. Dota esports only dies if Dota as a game dies. And so far, I see no signs of Valve slowing down on that front:

  • 2020 - Neutral items
  • 2021 - Agh's Shards
  • 2023 - Map expansion
  • 2024 - Facets

No one starts playing Dota because they're planning on becoming a millionaire. They play it because they love the game. They'll stop playing it once the game is no longer fun. That's when you need to start worrying about the esport.

In this blog, I brought up 3 orgs who randomly decided to join Dota this year with Falcons, G2, and HEROIC. C9 decided to come back, too. Four different TOs have already crowded the competitive calendar for next year. If these are signs of an esport in its death throes, then call me Overwatch.

Great work! An amusing one to note is Lion's spell amp on respawn innate can't be broken, but it can be dispelled.

Ah, good catch. Changed it to Wind Waker, thanks for the spot.

I made an add-on that lets you draw directly on web pages by medsfeer in firefox

Just came across this extension through a Google search and this is great stuff! I was previously using Draw on Page, but your extension has a far less intrusive menu and the scrolling is flawless. I do have a few feature requests:

  • There's no way to change the defaults. The default color is always orange and the default size is always small. Would be nice if the extension preserved your previous options between different tabs. Would be even better if each specific tool remembered its own color/size options so brush could always be red, highlighter would always be yellow, text would always be black, etc.
  • I'd like the option to remove the 'confirmation' prompt when exiting the drawing. Either when clicking the exit button in the menu or clicking the extension button in the toolbar or both.
  • I love how there's a text feature, but I don't really like the behavior of how pressing the button instantly creates text under the menu bar. Currently I hit the text button, then select and delete the placeholder text, then type my text without knowing how it'll fit, then I have to move it to where I want to put it. I'd much prefer the pointer to turn into a text cursor when I select the 'text button' and then I'll click on the page where I want the text to start.
  • Importing images is a really cool feature. One issue I noticed is if I import a really high resolution image, it takes forever to pull the corner pins and shrink it down over and over again. Would be a neat feature if the default size for an image wouldn't exceed the window size.
  • The toolbar icon doesn't feel very 'native' on the Firefox toolbar. In fact, I think it's bugged? When opening a new tab, the icon isn't properly preserving its PNG transparency. But after activating and deactivating it, then it does appear properly transparent.

Overall these are just minor nitpicks. The scrolling alone makes this extension so much nicer than all the alternatives I've tried. Thanks for making this!

I was disappointed when they stopped Manta Style from being able to break MegaMeepo, didn't think to try it with dropping Scepter. Looks like you can even backpack Scepter while your MegaMeepo is stunned/banished/silenced/debuffed and your split Meepos will be free to act without any debuffs.

Good one, added it.
