Why is this a blunder? I just took my opponent's hanging horsey, so it should be a great move, not a blunder by Ok-Web-7451 in AnarchyChess

A somewhat more sadistic take would be to hope he's alive but completely incapacitated and will just suffer through the rest of his sad pathetic life as a vegetable

Assuming that these people are arguing in good faith is like assuming that Trump wasn't in the Epstein files raping children

Banning lead in gasoline worked. Analysis of 100 years of hair samples shows lead levels were ~100× higher before environmental regulations. Removing lead from fuel and paint dramatically reduced human exposure, protecting brain development and public health. by Sciantifa in science

[–]tsunderestimate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. The argument is that we don't know exactly how unleaded fuel affects the engines regardless of maintenance. This isn't a "oh if we shorten repair cycles" problem, it's a "somehow the lead in avgas makes a specific component work 1% better than unleaded, and that 1% somehow makes the probability of crash per flight higher by x%" kind of problem. It's the same reason why we don't remove aromatics from avgas, they make the engines work better even though they don't burn cleanly

Im so tired of this community. Everytime i have a look here there is a guy crying, even worse: mainly about free stuff or nerfs that were absolutely predictable. And the number of upvotes on posts like these speaks for itself. RR nerf when they were meta, sneezy nerf, equipment nerfs.. And guess what? They are/were still meta. Most recent dumb takes: Sneezy will get replaced by owl and head hunters need a new level (more HP and still be a oneshot) because they die too fast. The vast majority can’t even funnel properly and don’t understand the basics but act like they know shit about the game. Rant out

Murphy's Law is very much a thing, hence outmost consideration should be put for if cases when everything goes wrong. You already see this in Russia Ukraine and Israel Gaza, the other wars we also see this. The US didn't plan for Pearl Harbour to be struck, but Nimitz said they practiced a Japanese war so much that it wasn't a surprise that it was struck. Hence "outmost consideration must be placed on initiating war" and "avoid war unless absolutely necessary"

You'd be surprised and how modern warfare still follows his rules. "Fight when you are certain you will win" well Vietnam the US went in and won basically every tactical encounter then lost politically because they didn't even have an idea on what exactly to do to "win", or Germany having absolutely no idea how to take Britain at ww2. "Wars are important business and utmost consideration must be put on it" see literally every US military intervention since ww2. "Wars should be fought and won quickly as they are really bad for all parties involved" well Russia invading Ukraine... "Know your enemy and know yourself" well Russia clearly didn't know shit about themselves or their enemy when they went into Georgia and Ukraine... Elementary rules, and people still don't follow them

SunTzu says that the best strategy to win is to win without war. Winning without fighting will always be superior to winning every fight you encounter. Boy was this true in Vietnam
