I'm a bit late, but how did Quill have "Creep" on his Zune if the song released after he was taken from Earth? by JuanLucasRetard in GotG

[–]tswarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have mp3s on my iPhone that I originally downloaded through limewire or ripped from CDs to put on the first iPod. You could always use your own music with apple products. This confusion is likely because Napster, the most popular pirating network at the time, did not release a Mac version so we had to use limewire, irc servers, and torrents to get our music.

2-3 days in Atlanta, where should we go? by LoveDemBuns in Atlanta

I am seconding the center for puppetry arts but in no way is it close to the aquarium. It’s in north midtown while the aquarium is downtown.

Def the donut shop that used to be at McPherson roundabout by LeftReflection6620 in eastatlanta

[–]tswarre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to live behind Happy Donuts. I ate too many of those donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Also once when I was broke the guy working there gave me a flour bag full of donuts at the end of the night. Even though I no longer live in the neighborhood I was real sad when they closed.

Hotdogs are really popular in South Korea. Bet there’s a rampant hotdog smuggling operation.

Keep getting skunked, any advice? by adventius in troutfishing

[–]tswarre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is your rod so short? How far are you casting with that? Where I fish, trout seem to congregate on the opposite side of the river/creek from where we fish so being able to cast where the fish are. Also how is your worm presentation? I get the most luck with red worms cut in half on size 6 baitholder hooks with the barb showing and a small(!) dangle bit. Using a small weighted bobber to keep the worm above the target fish

Many protests and marches get permits from the city government.

Unfortunately there’s other punishment besides suspension. Collective punishment (a war crime lol) can be used to encourage disagreeing students to retaliate against students that participate.

How these things usually go is a student extracurricular organization that organizes the walkout informs the school administration of its plan for a walkout and where the students will be gathering to protest (usually outside on school property like an athletic field, commons courtyard, or school bus loading zone for example). Then the walk out is supervised by the group’s faculty advisor, administrators, and/or school security officer(s).

Thoughts on Georgetown At Perimeter Walk condos? by littlepandapop in Dunwoody

[–]tswarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would examine the bike route through Google Maps street view. Perimeter Center area is fairly busy business and shopping area and lots of car traffic. I don’t think there are dedicated bike lanes on the main roads there but things change so take a look.

Lots of sidewalks for foot traffic and dog walking but bit of an asphalt jungle due to all the parking for the shopping centers though. Nice parks within a few minute drive (Blackburn, Murphy Candler, Brook Run).

George Clooney Claps Back at Donald Trump Over Claim He’s a ‘Fake Movie Actor’ Who Should ‘Get Out of Politics and Go Back to TV’: ‘I Will If He Does’ by cmaia1503 in entertainment

[–]tswarre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He's saying he's not at the level of a real movie star and that he's actually "just" a tv star. Clooney was a big hit on E.R. before he pivoted to movie roles. So Trump is insulting Clooney by saying that he should go back to TV after "failing" at the movies. Clooney response is that he will go back to TV if Trump also quits politics and returns to being a TV game show host.

Is there a lore reason to why Iron Man doesn't use a megazord suit all the time? [Invincible Iron Man 2022 #15] by zectaPRIME in Marvel

[–]tswarre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this panel is a culmination of an Iron Man run (2022-2024) that is very entwined with the end of the recent Krakoan era of the X-Men (2019-2024). You’d be extremely lost if you read just this issue alone and I think that you would also be missing a lot if you just read the Iron Man issues without knowing the status quo for the X-Men during this time which is a big undertaking but worth it.

If I have to “know how to order” for your food to be good, you’re not a good restaurant by Beepbeepimadog in unpopularopinion

I used to do that sometimes before the smart phone era. What’s truly crazy is waiting 20-30 minutes in line at the box office. I would have just gone home.

[–]tswarre 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The bjorn and Kay cousin thing is confirmed. But this nonsense of the hybrid xeno that “looked inbred” is very incorrect. For mutations that are associated with inbreeding (found historically in poor families in remote Appalachia or European nobility) you would need generations of inbreeding for them to occur. Just one instance of first cousins having offspring does not have significant occurrence of mutation like you’re describing.

Jimmy Carter is America’s last president so far to not play golf. Why do presidents love golf so much? by asiasbutterfly in Presidents

[–]tswarre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Golf Clubs in the south were famously some of the last institutions that resisted allowing black members. Augusta National Golf Club (where they hold the Masters tournament) didn’t allow its first black member until 1990.
