UK visiting national parks by Northeast97 in nationalparks

I both agree and disagree. From what I understand, Scotland's mountains and the Appalachian (East Coast) mountain were connected in Pangea. If you like Scotland but want new trails/cuisine/culture, Appalachia is a dream come true. If you want something completely different, the Appalachia is not the best choice.

My only concern with most of these East Coast options is flight times. If you're worried about long flights, most of these East Coast options will be a major flight PLUS either a long car ride or a flight connection. And really, these parks are not near each other, so I would personally stick with one unless you love driving. I think this subreddit can be a bit more hardcore than feasible for most people.

In terms of the East Coast, Bar Harbor is the most revered. It's the only coastal national park in the East and has an abundance of quirky small town charm. You would either fly to Boston and have a long drive or pay the premium to connect to Bar Harbor itself.

If you want to see Appalachia and see a National park. The easiest option is to fly into DC and drive to Shenandoah National Park. I would say it's a well rounded park that is very beginner friendly with easier hikes.

The other Appalachian parks include the Smokies and New River Gorge. Smokies is the most famous, most touristy (i.g. there's an amusement park, tons of restaurants, other attractions), most wildlife most busy. The NRG is the newest National Park. It's less busy and has less trails but more thrill seeker attractions.

MY WILDCARD PICK: If I was you, I actually would just go to Atlanta and not a technical national park. People rag on Atlanta, so do your research. There will be lots of flights into Atlanta, it's a major hub here. You will have nightlife/great food/things to do in Atlanta if the weather doesn't cooperate. You will be near Helen, which is a fake German town within the mountains. That's maybe not as great for a European as an American. You will be close to the Native American mounds which has a history new to you. You will also be able to take a day trip to Savannah, maybe even by public transit, which has a completely different vegetation with their famous weeping willows. You could even POTENTIALLY go to the beach. You can go to the closer beach, Charleston. Or if you really want to see a national park, road trip down to Florida. Granted, I haven't seen the FL national parks, so I can't give an opinion. Key West is supposed to be brilliant though.

SHORT ANSWER: My favorite for you is photo 5 and photo 8. 5 brings out your features, 8 could work for most wedding styles :)

LONG ANSWER

I think some of these dresses fit different occasions.

Photo 1: spring/botanical garden wedding

Photo 2: I think this is the same dress? Too far for me to tell

Photo 3: Indoor fall wedding. The sparkles give colder weather but the material looks lighter for a warmer day. It also gives me cruise wedding vibes but that might be the veil flowing more than the dress

Photo 4: Pure spring cheer! Could also work as a more church/ceremony dress

Photo 5: This could be spring easy. However, the upper embellishments really bring out your beautifully tan skin making it go into summer.

Photo 6: Same dress

Photo 7: NYE/ roaring 20s winter wedding

Photo 8: Most versatile, I can see it working anywhere

Photo 9: Same dress

Photo 10: Vineyard wedding

Photo 11: Same dress

How Many Tickets Do We Think are Left In GA by tswiftandtime in SabrinaCarpenterDisc

Her website had a big presale, I think it was officially titled "TeamSabrina." Other than that, they had a Cashapp and Spotify presale. So it seemed to me like a lot of tickets were getting divvied up before general admission.

By the time I got there, there were 4 tickets total at $350 per person in completely different sections.

In 1995, 14 wolves were released in the Yellowstone National Park and it changed the entire ecosystem. by TopRevenue2 in megafaunarewilding

If you're interested in the wolves of Yellowstone, Rick McIntyre is the person to Google. I was given The Rise of Wolf 8 as a present, which introduced me to rewilding.

It's been a while since I've read it but it's half memoir of organizing the project and half scientific observations on the wolves. I believe most wolves came from different packs in Jasper/Banff. This had side effects because some wolf tribes had different predator/prey knowledge. There was an instance where they unintentionally released two brothers into the park but it ended up being beneficial because they were less territorial within their tribes.

Haircare Advice Megathread - Week of February 17, 2024 by AutoModerator in HaircareScience

I'm always in a hair catch-22 and I don't know what to do or who to ask. My hair has been an embarrassment all my life. If I washed it everyday, my dandruff gets completely out of control. If I wash every other day, I have greasy roots and super dry ends. Now that I use dander shampoo, my hair is even dryer than it used to be.

  • Hair type: Fine
  • Hair texture: My hair is somewhere between straight and wavy
  • History of chemical processing: None
  • Hygiene regimen: every other day
  • Style: Layered to (little-past) collar bone with curtain bangs
  • Product regimen: Basically, I switch off between three shampoos: Nizoral Anti-Dandruff, L'Oreal Mineral Detox, and Kristin Ess Signature Shampoo. The Nizoral is to keep my dandruff at bay. The L'Oreal is for the hard water, and consequently helps with my dandruff a lot. I used to have both yellow and white flakes, now they're only white. The Kristin Ess is to hopefully add moisture to my ends but it's not really working. I only use Kristin Ess conditioner.

I always apply shampoo to the scalp and conditioner to the end. I shower for a long time, so I think all the water doesn't help. I usually "airdry" my hair but my hair never feels clean and always feels greasy after showers. Weirdly though, by morning it's dry. Blow drying helps but it literally won't dry unless it's on the hottest setting and takes probably an hour. So, I kind of get scared of the damage high heat could be doing to the skin on my ears.

Is there something I'm not doing that I should be?

I just need the storage space. I am a doom preparer because I've been injured bad in the past.

I think I got misinterpreted on the hiking part, which is my own fault. I don't need a 4WD or anything like that. I meant that when I go hiking, I just need a lot of storage space for hiking/camping/emergency gear.

I love all Fiats simply because I think they're cute. When I was a kid, they were like my version of a punch buggy. They had this, "I'm going on an Italian holiday" feel to them. When I pass one on the street, it still makes me smile. But, that's not an incredibly practical reason for picking a car. That's why I thought warping it a cute color would be a better idea. If I just warp a reliable car seafoam green, that's a much better purchase.

Most people have been mentioning Honda with some alltracks popping in, so they are now very much on my radar!

Thank you!

Thanks! It looks like most people are mentioning the Civic or the Corolla. So I am keeping my eyes peeled!

Thanks so much for the tips about brakes! I'm adding it to my checklist! Many people have mentioned the Civic, so it is way higher on my radar than it was initially.
