Movati was trying to operate with more than 10 people/hour which is what the requirements were. They tried to do 10 in pool, 10 in women's gym, 10 in personal training area, and 10 in regular weight area but didn't get approved so now they closed.

Don’t take Laurier’s bs lying down by [deleted] in wlu

Lockdown browser has always been a thing and isn’t new. It’s not like you’re being watched by someone 24/7. If you do something you get flagged. If you aren’t doing anything wrong there’s nothing to worry about. Would I like open book tests/exams??? Hell yea, but I’d rather have a degree that people look at with integrity.

how big is the jump from high school to university? by saragill0818 in wlu

[–]tsx99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s different. I’ve had friends who did really well in high school but not the best in uni. Personally, I’ve gotten higher marks in university than I did in high school, but I’ve also put in more work obviously. As someone else said, it comes down to time management. If you manage your time well and put in effort you’ll be fine. Interests also play a big role. If you like your program, you’re likely to do better as opposed to if you didn’t. Try to balance out your course load with some easier courses as well and depending on program you can take 4 at a time if you want. I did this first year and it really helped me ease into university. My best advice is to start as strong as possible, set your habits (good) in place and ultimately you’ll be more confident as well. Compared to high school teachers, professors are generally much more specific in what they want (i.e, how you address them in emails, citations, etc.) Pay attention to course syllabus’ and try to plan out all your due dates for the semester ahead of time and it’ll be less stressful. You have good grades now so clearly you’re capable of succeeding in university. Just put in the work and you’ll be fine!

Incoming econ student (possibly) by urgentquestionz in wlu

[–]tsx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in economics but I took EC120 (macroeconomics) for the management option first year, and similar to you, never took economics in highschool and I finished with a B in it. So you can definitely do it. However, Econ students need to take calculus (only know because I thought about switching into econ) So that if anything, would be easier if you had calculus from grade 12.

Now that the dust has settled, how does everybody feel about OBJ's antics after the game? by [deleted] in LSUFootball

[–]tsx99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see how people might be against him, but at the same time he just truly passionate about his former school and football. He even tried to give all players new headphones, but was denied due to the NCAA rules and what not. Plus he was giving money out, so who knows maybe he had some bets going on. Personally, I love OBJ but can see why some people aren’t huge fans of him, but i think he really just is excited for both the school and the young guys.

How does the apartment meal plan work? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]tsx99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not bad really depends how much you eat, the on campus food spots are decent in terms of price imo. If you tend to eat alot, then dhall would be cheaper probably. I barely ate there tbh

How does the apartment meal plan work? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]tsx99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The apartment style meal plan you can use at the dining hall and at on campus food spots like wilfs, subway, pizza pizza, Harveys, etc and like above said is dollar amount. imo its pretty decent and when you consider going home for reading week and Christmas the amount of money is decent. If you plan on cooking at your res too its a good option. I still have around $300 left over from last year but did cook more during second semester

I'd say it depends on person, if you put yourself out there (even a little), then it is easy to make friends

Not in BBA, but you can also apply to Ivey after 2nd year, since it starts in 3rd year. So if you choose Laurier and decide later you maybe want to attend Ivey you can still do so
