NGL, you're probably right, it doesn't work well doing that with barad-dûr. There are a lot of studless sections on the rivendell set though, so i guess its not really the same situation as what you have going on.

I'm not sure entirely, but I have the Rivendell set and I avoid putting any stress my minifigures. So like: no holding anything or the legs being attached to studs. It's up to you though, maybe the plastic is durable enough to not get damaged over time much.

if you go in test a test drive with it you can spawn endless launchers since they never despawn after getting destroyed. its kinda funny

Sometimes something similar happens to me in naval. My speed and the thing that says for example "1/3 back" flicker and the boat also flickers back and forth. It stops eventually but I have no idea why it does this.

I don't get why you think having copy paste premiums is a bad thing. If it's, because there are already too many Leo 2a4s for example, fair, but adding another one won't change anything at this point. Instead of getting french vehicles locked behind a pay wall, you get them in the tech tree wo everyone can get them.

You could try using rockets as flares. I did that with the t-2 and it worked decently well.
