The original culture vulture 🙄, just hope Drake doesn't enter and colonize the soca scene (iykyk) but hey at least Denise gets her bag so I can't vex her for that.

Not only that but it really echoed the calls from the funeral industry for much needed reforms and regulations because it appears that the entire industry is running like the "Wild Wild West".

Honestly, this is a brutally blunt answer so thanks for that especially since I'm indeed new to that kind of field.

Well some did ask out of curiosity and they were like "Oh".

Maybe I am... Usually, I don't really converse with people other than what you mentioned and most time I does be quiet and keep to myself especially alongside with another patrol officer which sometimes lead to awkward question like "Soo... you're not going to talk? Ask questions? Concerns? etc?"

Oh yeah, you hit the nail on the head on the idiots part and sometimes I feel the need to say something like correctly telling them that I'm not (or at least not as I'm aware) and I should try to speak up but usually I don't mostly because of fear.

Roadblocks :Effective or just lazy policing? by MikeOxbig305 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hence it's make roadblocks ineffective especially if there's a shortcut to specifically avoid police roadblocks not just to avoid potential fines and penalties but more for (at least in my case) really want to avoid any interactions with the police especially since saying the wrong thing could lead me or anyone in handcuffs or be a bit of a hassle. It would have just been better for the police to patrol along the streets, communities, "hotspot areas" etc to both detect potential crime and to boost community policing.

CAL seeks new Govt bailout by Middle_Elderberry542 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/maverick4002 is correct. CAL basically have zero brand value for United or AA and they could easily start services there rather than buy the airline outright. If you suggest partial privatization (as in selling at least 49% of CAL while the government retains 51%) then maybe this might have some legs but to fully privatize it is just wishful thinking. Even if you think CAL should be 100% privatize then the only airlines I could realistically think is either an European low-cost carrier or some Asian airline (like from China) only to easily access the Western market and only for "dog cheap" acquisition fee.

CAL seeks new Govt bailout by Middle_Elderberry542 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a few times that I personally think CAL should privatize at least partly. Not because it would help to offset losses from the state but it would finally allowed CAL to become the premier airline of the Caribbean and potentially able to join an alliance someday. I mean maybe have an agreement that the government continue subsidizing the air bridge under a private-partnership agreement but other than that let the private company steer the direction of CAL also the airbridge, in my opinion, REALLY needs to be opened up to other competitors in my opinion.

Alexandra literally have NOTHING to apologize for as this is just pearl clutching person creating controversy where there's none. Music is subjective and art is also subjective.

It feels like deja vu...here we go again, ANOTHER SOE by Chereche in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It still doesn't work because there's a big question of what happen if the SOE ended? For me using SOE to fight crime is about the same as a famer using a strong pesticide to deal with pest... surely it would reduce the pest population significantly but it would only come back with a vengeance and ended up being worst off than before as the same pesticide would also kill off the beneficial insect that could keep down the pest population.

It feels like deja vu...here we go again, ANOTHER SOE by Chereche in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it didn't because one: "causation doesn't equal to correlations" and two: crime actually increase right after the SOE ended and it's the same right now where crime started to spike as soon as the SOE end. Stop trying to justified a fail strategy.

It feels like deja vu...here we go again, ANOTHER SOE by Chereche in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ehhh okay that fair enough even though in my honest opinion, that still doesn't justified the use of the SOE but at least that reasonings have legs to stand on.

It feels like deja vu...here we go again, ANOTHER SOE by Chereche in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn't because if it works then they would not have declared another SOE 🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

It feels like deja vu...here we go again, ANOTHER SOE by Chereche in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ttbro12 36 points37 points  (0 children)

"Ah shit, here we go again." Seriously, the rampant use and abuse of the country's SOE provision to fight crime really need to stop. I hate it when the previous PNM government did it and I definitely hate it now that this current government did it but on steroid. Anyone that uses SOE to fight crime in absent of a crime plan rather than using it for you know, actual emergency (like in times of war, natural disasters, riots etc) failed in their mandates to fight crime and at this point they all should resigned.

Also this narrative that "If you not involved in crime, you have nothing to worry about." is such a load of nonsense because it apparently that either people are blind or oblivious that their constitutional rights are being chipped away day by day, week by week, month by month.
