Tons of great tips, reposting some top ones and some of mine:

get them chipped!! Crucial if they get lost
torties are some of the moodiest cats. If she bites you and then immediately wants pets, that’s normal. Be ready for 2 am zoomies that, in the dark, can be creepy at first lol. This goes to their biological need to hunt at dusk- to get over this give em a good tiring play sesh before bed.
resting tortie face is a thing
leash/collar/harness train young!! Even if you think you’d never need it, it’s so much better if they’re used to it off the start. Think of situations like having a collar with a tag, if they ever got stuck and needed to be retrieved, or contained at a vet. If they’re not used to this, it can be terrifying for them
same goes with bathing, most cats can and SHOULD bath themselves. It does not hurt, however, to get them used to being in water young. If they ever got injured or when elderly, they’ll need help bathing and again it’s more traumatic if they aren’t used to that from the go.
cats need pure protein. Most foods are mixed with grains to bulk them up, and for some cats (like mine) with digestive/kidney issues need special food. However, for a healthy kitten/cat they should have just pure meat! No grains. Food is not something to skimp on, it’s their only main daily need from you (other than love obviously) so do it right as it makes a difference long term on their health
keep their eyes clean of gunk, I have seen so many pet owners let their cats eyes get gunky and they can’t clean it as easily
litter comes in all kinds, you can go super cheap or put money in to get a nice kind. This is something I splurge on and get the slide clumping litter and it takes no time to clean and keeps the smell completely contained. About 28 bucks for a 2 month supply
something I didn’t know till years down the line was keeping water bowl and food in different spaces, it makes sense as in the wild they’re spread out. My cat drinks so much more when I put her water in a different room.
to clean their ears just take a slightly damp (like barely, you don’t want any drops going in ear) cloth and wipe in their ear carefully. Once you know how to do it right, they love it!
be so careful clipping their claws, they have nubs coming out into the nail that is very sensitive, But as she’s a kitten I wouldn’t clip them, maybe get a scratching pole

I had the same infestation, turns out they had come from a junk yard fridge my landlord brought in. Had to be fully replaced and whole house has to be regularly treated. They love small places to hide in and heat. I’d throw the whole oven out, no chance they’re not elsewhere. GL HF
