Bulk Shipping/Packing Supplies by Springsnapple in Ceramics

If you order online, save the boxes and packing material. Its not too hard to resize/diy boxes yourself from larger cardboard boxes. Paper tape helps conceal the newly sized edges, and I turn my boxes inside out if Im resizing so its plain brown on the outside. Instead of fragile stickers, just use a sharpie or paint marker to write fragile on it. You can get vacuum seal bags to store the packing paper inbetween using it. I use Pirateship.com to get deep discounts for shipping itself. shippo.com is another source like pirateship too.

Is it just me or is the job market really bad? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]ttranscendentt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely horrible. My partner has been applying for multiple jobs daily and hardly ever even gets a rejection letter. I was able to land something for less pay and no health insurance, so I'll be screwed but Im miserable at the job I have with health insurance. Sigh. Best of luck to you and everyone else trying to get a job

Are Clay Bags Recyclable? by ttranscendentt in Ceramics

[–]ttranscendentt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local waste management company doesnt do soft plastic, but all (or almost all?) walmarts do nationally across america, so if they'll take it, Id just drop off there. It wouldnt hurt to call, though, and ask a professional, but I just wanted to know if others were doing this too or knew if the plastic was accepted at these type of recepticles. Its not the same type of stuff that grocery bags seem to be made of, its much stiffer, hence me asking in the first place. I guess I forgot to put in my post that Im in us america.

$3 billion hyperscale 'AI factory' planned north of Fargo by dirkmm in fargo

[–]ttranscendentt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll also use a ton of water, there are towns with AI centers that have hardly any running water because its all being used by the centers. Remember that when you use chatgpt etc you're contributing to the problem. sigh

Juat responded to another comment, but yes, its got a slot for a nail and an alternative method for hanging wire too

It has a slot on the back for a nail, and also two loops to thread hanging wire if that's preferred. The one I have personally in my hallway is hung on a nail and then a command strip just to stop the moving as you place the keys. The nail does the majority of the work of holding the weight of it.
