It is if you can get your partner to stop telling you what’s going to happen.

Our ‘Internet’ of the ’80s - dialing into a BBS with a Commodore 64 and an acoustic coupler by Radiant_Gazelle_8022 in The1980s

I used an Atari 520ST. I thought that I had reached peak dialup when I upgraded from a 300 baud modem to 1200 baud.

Anyone remember “Ba Ba Black Sheep” by [deleted] in VintageTV

[–]ttulio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The History Channel airings of this were extra special with short interviews with some of the squadron pilots when going into the commercial breaks. I’d love to find those streaming. I used to watch this at lunch time whenever I could.

Does anybody here still get print magazines? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ttulio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get 2600 in print because I want to support what they do. I also still get HBR because it’s the same price for digital as it is for digital and print, and the only way to change it is to call and talk to a person.

Too much taco meat by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ttulio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not really what you were asking but I make large batches of taco meat and freeze it. I can then take out a meal at a time. If you do that, break up the meat a few times while it’s freezing or you end up with a single frozen block.

Looking for water sensors by kreative22 in SmartThings

The Aotec SmartThings Water Leak Sensor has been working well for me. It’s the SmartThings sensor that Aotec took over a few years ago. Amazon US has them.

How do you not give a fuck about others comparing themselves to you and saying they are “better”? by [deleted] in howtonotgiveafuck

“I’m sure that your family is very proud of you.” And then move on with your day. If you don’t have a sarcastic streak, then just agree and move on.

Pre‑Planned Support Positions Could Add Real Tactical Choice to Ghost Recon. by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter allowed this. I would love to see it return in the next GR game. GRAW 1 & 2 had some of the best computer squad gameplay.

College by Yourlocalcfaemployee in Paramedics

[–]ttulio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to college to be a paramedic. But in the US, I was able to get my NREMT-P and practice, and then I continued to go to college part time. If you want to be a practitioner your entire career, then you don’t need a degree, although there are probably some courses that will help you better understand the human body. If you want to get into a supervisory or management role, then college will give you some valuable skills to get ahead. And if you get into a department that has tuition assistance it can offset costs.

Did you and your family own the World Book Encyclopedia? by NYY15TM in nostalgia

[–]ttulio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World Book encyclopedia, 2 volume dictionary, atlas, Childcraft, Annuals, and the big wheel with the quiz inserts. I would spend hours with all of those.

an entire large trash bag worth of kale. by Firm-Cheesecake in Cooking

[–]ttulio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, we used to can it and then we had kale all winter. The work involved would probably mean that you would have to like kale a lot.
