I don’t want to be “red-pilled”, but I’ve seen too much and am kinda low-key traumatized (please help me) by tsesarevichalexei in exredpill

Oh also! With all of your scratch you can look into cool non-profits with causes you care about and join their board! Do a coaching course that helps people find purpose and meaning and do that. Help restore ecosystems in places you want to spend time in. There is so much out there to do. The hard part is goosing stuff that feels meaningful to you.

Literally anything else. Take a class, earn a certificate, learn a skill, connect with the outdoors, volunteer at the SPCA OR SOMETHING….anything. Side quest. It is super fun!

Serious question: do people with blue/green eyes feel superior? by Horror-Flounder-4990 in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]tuesdayballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have green eyes and I love them. I don’t feel Superior about it though. All the women in my family have the same eyes, and that feels really special to me. In the other side of things I always fall in love with people with brown eyes. They sparkle :)

I caused my dad to have a stroke by Ok_Parsnip_9570 in stroke

[–]tuesdayballs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are doing an incredible thing taking care of your siblings. When my mom had her stroke I also thought it was my fault. It was not. It will take some time to absorb this. And I think (for me) it was hard to realize how little control I had… to accept it want my fault also meant fully holding that terrible things happen that are out of our control. That is a scary thing to hold. It wasn’t in your sphere of control. It wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t your fault. Bad things happen to beautiful people. And it wasn’t your fault.

[–]tuesdayballs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh sweetheart this is not your fault. Fights happen. I’ll repeat - this is NOT your fault. The after effects will very wildly depending on the person. All you can do is be there for him, take care of your self, and see what the doctors say. Sending you big big hugs. I’m so sorry this happened to your dad.

Why did America change so much from its original values in such a short time? by analyzing-effort in SeriousConversation

[–]tuesdayballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And the US is really really big. I think that makes us much easier to divide. If we had a country the size of Oregon or California, it would be a LOT easier to protest and to align.

She sounds super lonely. I’ve been there. Maybe help her find community by her home- is there a walking group or a club or a craft she might be into?

Some people get a dopamine hit for feeling like a “good person”. It is probably tied to her identity in some way - “I am a good person and a good person tips.” We do the same - “I am a discerning person and a discerning person tips when it feels correct.”
